You still will need SOME clothes:)

by erikute3534

for ladies not much applies, obviously, dont get naked and you will be fine :) It is very cosmopolitan city and you can wear whatever you feel like. Even if its very very hot day, going to Malls or restaurants, grab something warmer - pashmina (local scarf :) ) or light jumper. Most restaurants will offer pashmina while dining, so if you forgot one, just ask!for gents - especially for dining places, most smart restaurants require clothes shoes.. some hotel restaurants accepts 'smart' shoes, but most still will require closed type.. so dont forget to put some in(not trainers!) . Also, smart shirts.. if you planing veeeerrryy smart dinner, like in Burj Al Arab, they even request to wear jackets.. but dont worry, most of those restaurats might even offer a jacket :) which of course you will have to return after dinner :)

Sun screen lotion....a must

by scaffas

Nothing special but you will be gettin more bags as you will be having bags of shopping goods aaheaeah Dubai is a desert so the temperature is quite warm. So bring your beach clothes like shorts and t-shirts, skirts. During the winter months especially during december,Jan and Feb it is a bit cooler so you can get a jumper and jeans. Most of the supplies are available here in Dubai. Well known brands are available almost everywhere. Nothing special but to let you know that the power supply is 220V. Sun screen lotion a must if you have a special brand. otherwise it is widely available in most of the shops or pharmacy in Dubai.

If you forgot it - it's probably cheaper in Dubai!

- no special luggage or bags needed. Just take your regular luggage and leave it at the hotel. Maybe bring a back-pack or some sort of larger bag for one-day or overnight trips. Since Dubai is all about shopping, just carry your wallet. It's hot most of the time; it's really warm the rest of the time, so:- wear light, breathable clothing (cottons)- bring a light sweater or jacket to throw on, since all buildings are airconditioned and it might get cool inside- shorts are OK, but remember: this is an Islamic country, so be decently dressed to respect islamic customs- for women: though Dubai is relatively liberal, the neighbouring emirates are not. Again, try to respect islamic customs, and dress appropriately Just bring what you would normally use - in case you forgot anything - you can buy whatever you need in Dubai. There are ample of medical and drug stores. - Make sure to have...

What not to take/got to take

by Vally999

If you go into the desert, full sandals or trainers are ideal because the sand gets so hot it can burn your feet. In the hotter months take plenty of cool loose fitting clothing. A sun hat and loose t shirt to cover yourself up in case of sun burn. Also take some good sunglasses but what you forget, you can certainly buy in Dubai. Must take sunblock and wear strong sun protection when out and about and on the beach. I took mosquito repellent and one of those plug ins but there were no mosquitos!!!!!! Must take a camera Our hotel (Oasis Beach) supplied all beach and pool towels, so I could have saved on packing. If you are from England, don't bother taking any electricity adaptors if staying in a hotel. I felt every need I would encounter had already been sorted out for me.

It gets cold at night in the desert

by Quero

If you are travelling to Dubai in winter, take a light jacket or sweater for evenings, especially if you may eat outdoors (e.g. at the Yacht Club or the Aviation Club). Also, once the sun sets in the desert, it can get downright teeth-chattering nippy.

Clothing

by amna_alshamsi

Lightweight summer clothing is suitable for most of the year, but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evenings.Compared with certain parts of the Middle East, Dubai has a very relaxed dress code. However, care should be taken not to give offence by wearing clothing which may be considered revealing. At the pool or on the beaches, trunks, swim-suits and bikinis are quite acceptable.Good quality sunglasses are advised, and photo- chromatic lenses for those who wear spectacles. Hats or some protection for the head are advisable when in direct sunlight.Copyright © Department of Tourism & Commerce You can bring all your photo equipment with you, also there is a wide range of photo equipment in our markets in case you want to buy some.

SUNSCREEN

by leanne_pearc

It is very hot in Dubai and you should always apply sunscreen. Amazingly you can still get a tan when wearing the sunscreen.
