Tahiti - Polynesian Restaurant: Seafood Extravaganza

by MiradiCuson

Buffet type of polyniesian restaurant serving wide variety of fresh seafood cooked at the spot by a professional chef. Also has a wide variety of sushi bar, and some salads. During the special promotions the restaurant will have a unlimited food and drinks (inclusing alcoholic) for around $40-45 per person. A great deal, considering that alcoholic drinks are served only in selected restaurants in hotels. Clams, calamari, shrimps, sushi, etc. Cooked before you and fresh. The restaurant has a live entertainment - exptic dancers, though as you drink the drum beats become more harassing.:)

Planet Hollywood: Captain Crunch Chicken Strips?

by american_tourister

Just like every other Planet Hollywood I have been in except a lot smaller. It has none of the panache of the one on Wilshire at Rodea in LA or even the NY or Orange County venues. In fact it was a bit shabby in comparison. The movie artifacts were all from "B" movies with the exception of a full armor suit from the movie "The Fifth Element". I love the Captain Crunch chicken strips but they don't serve them here. They also don't serve the pulled pork sandwich and that's a bummer.

The Noodle House: Oodles Noodles

by morninglory

Always a busy place, you cannot book a table. It first come first serve restaurant. Open air cooking, canteen bench seating, very casual, noisy yet the food is fantastic! To order, you just have to tick on the menu and give to the waitress.Fast and easy! Dim Sum, be it vegetarian or chicken or prawn, you must have them as a starter. For main course, flat noodles (char kuey teow) fried with beef, chicken or seafood. You can ask your level of spiciness even though it stated on the menu. Its very tasty. If you think the spice is not enough, there's selections of chillies, chillie paste, ginger and garlic on the table.

Mosaico: Minimalist Italian at decent price

by Aphro

Medium price and quality Italian. All food very rich but there is something for most people and the service is usually fairly good if rather impersonal and hurried.Children very welcome, casual dining overlooking pool. The name comes from the gorgeous mosaics both indoors and outdoors and all over the floor, made from 2 million Chinese tiles they say!The Friday brunch is excellent value indeed at something like 89 dirhams and eating outdoors in the cooler months is fabulous by the round ball and long channel fountain. As with everywhere in Dubai, the wine is what pushes up the price but you can have just the one glass! Giant breadsticks and long focaccia to start, served in a giant stainless steel screw shaped holder.

Palm Court, Jumeirah Beach Hotel: Afternoon tea darling?

by Aphro

Located in the airy (and relatively tasteful) main lobby of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel is this spacious area where one can take tea, coffee, drinks and nibbles. View across the pool area to the sea and the Burj.Open 9.00 am to 1.00 amLive entertainment from a pianist (requests taken!): Late afternoon, early evenings. In the afternoon, a set afternoon tea is offered for one or two. It arrives on a three-tier cake stand, with little finger sandwiches, scones and fresh cream, muffins and gorgeous mini tartlets and gateaux (different each day but very high standard). Too much to eat and very rich! (don't eat lunch before you go!)All served with tea and coffee of your choice, including capuccino if you like it, although the range of teas is limited. The sugars (4 types!) come served in silver bowls, with tongs! How posh! For extra you can have champagne with it! Very tasteful and relaxing place...

Arz Lebanon: Arabic overlooking the marina

by colin_bramso

The location is as good as it gets in New Dubai, in Dubai Marina right on the waterfront overlooking Dubai Marina Yacht Club. The food is very good, so is the service, and there are international options on the menu in addition to the usual Arabic items. We always order several dishes, mezza in Arabic (similar to the Spanish tapas idea). The falafels are the best I've ever eaten, the fried kebbeh are very nearly as good. Hommos and the grilled boneless chicken are also excellent. I also have my favourite drink, which I always order in Arabic restaurants, lemon with mint.

Napoletana: Pizzaria Traditizionale

by colin_bramso

A casual pizza & pasta restaurant - as the name says, a traditional style pizzaria - at The Walk in the JBR section of Dubai Marina. There's indoor seating and tables outside on The Walk.Nothing fancy and the menu offers what you would expect, but it's good and inexpensive food with good service. Pizza Puttanesca, with tomato, cheese, anchovies, black olives & capers, Spaghetti Bolognese, Fettuccini Alfredo..

Automatic: Authentic great value Arabic food.

by colin_bramso

Automatic - not the best choice of name - is a small chain of Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurants and cafes dotted around Dubai. We've eaten at them in Bur Dubai and our nearest one in Jumeirah. Both excellent with the same high degree of service, food and cleanliness. The one in Jumeirah in particular has a very nice atmosphere too. When you sit down your waiter will bring a big dish of olives & pickles and a basket of bread, which is included in the price of the meal. And they gave us a dish of fresh watermelon slices to finish the meal - again at no cost. The bread is cooked in the restaurant and so couldn't be fresher. Mine is Shish Tawouk; marinated chicken pieces grilled on a skewer and served with rice or french fries. I have it with a dish of hommos. Geina's favourite is Seafood Grill; hammour, large prawns, calamari with french fries & vegetables. As the restaurant isn't in a...

Bobs Easy Diner JBR: Bobs in Jumeria Beach Walk

by georeiser

Bobs Easy Diner is an American Hamburger restaurant with interior from the 50's in USA. Typical for this place is the largest hamburger in Dubai. The staff are Philippians. Mega large Big Boy Hamburger with chips and salad for 46 AED (13 USD). Drink as much Pepsi can can for 12 AED (3,5 USD).

Dome: Western & Asian food, great coffee, atmosphere.

by colin_bramso

Dome started as a specialist coffee supplier in Australia, and that's reflected in the excellent coffee they serve. They're now spreading internationally and have expanded into an excellent restaurant chain. All branches have identical menus. We use three of their restaurants, one in Souk Madinat Jumairah, another in Beach Road Jumeirah and the new one at Dubai Marina. Service is top class, the atmosphere is informal & relaxing. At Madinat Jumeirah there's a large indoor area plus plenty of tables outside with views across the man-made lagoon to Burj Al Arab. There are a lot of good dishes on the menu; snacks, sandwiches & cakes, pizza & pasta, salads, western & eastern main courses.I can recommend especially the chicken schnitzel - parmesan bread-crumbed chicken, crispy potato wedges, green salad & spicy sweet sauce. Also very good are chicken & vegetable risotto, lemon scented chicken,...
