Dome @ Dubai Marina: Great coffee spot - and for meals

by colin_bramso

I like the coffee at Dome (an Australian coffee shop/restaurant chain) so it's one of my regular morning haunts.I use two most often, one in Madinat Jumeirah and the new one at Dubai Marina. The setting at Dubai Marina Dome is stunning. It's right on the marina, overlooking the multi-million dollar yachts, surrounded by amazing towers, a promenade full of people wandering by, date palms...and in the afternoon and evening the exotic scent of shisha pipes in the air from the surrounding cafes. There's a large outdoor area and a smaller indoor section. The service (at all Dome cafes) is about the best in Dubai, friendly & efficient. I go for the coffee in the mornings - and sometimes have a croissant, which are excellent and as good as any I've had in Dubai. The selection of cakes is excellent too. There's a good menu of dishes including salads, pasta, risotto, Asian, western dishes. We've...

Al Muntaha - Burj Al Arab: Try the restaurant at 27th floor!

by Novatorn

Simply the finest seafood in the world. That´s how the restaurant Al Muntaha calls itself. Is it true? Well, the only first class restaurant I have eaten at is the danish restaurant Noma in Copenhagen and that was a supreme experience, so that is my benchmark!Anyway, to access the Burj Al Arab, you must have a reservation for one of the restaurants, so we went for the full monty and booked a table at Al Muntaha Saturday evening.Well arrived at the sail, we were waving our reservation to one of the polite waiters, who came rushing to make sure we got track of how we got up to the 27th floor! We took some pictures of the amazing entrance (unfortunately, they became somewhat dark) and then it went up in express speed to Al Muntaha, where we were expected. The evening then went like a fairy tale - except from some small blunders from the waiters side (Carsten had to sit in 5 minutes with the...

Scoozi: Genuine Italian at The Walk

by colin_bramso

Scoozi serves the real thing when it comes to pizza and pasta, using the right wheat, the right ingredients to give an authentic Italian flavour. They have a branch at The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence at Dubai Marina with casual dining in a good atmosphere, plenty of tables inside or outside. I can't resist Pizza Romana - a thin crisp base with tomato, cheese, anchovies, black olives, capers. I can also recommend Scoozi's Spaghetti with spinach & cream and if you like meat the scalopini valdostana, which is veal with mushroom & mozzarella cheese and vegetables.

Lebanese Village

by gugi66

A great Lebanese restaurant with alot to chose from. The food (we took Chicken Shwarma) was exellent. The waiters wasn´t to happy, it felt like they were not organised, one came with drinks an other with sallad and bread and a third person took the orders (thats the only thing he does, take orders) so he ran forth and back between the tables. We had to wait more than usual for the food but it was no problem because we sat outside in the garden by the street, so it was pleassant.DONT MISS ALL OF MY VIDEOS OF LEBANESE VILLAGE Chicken Shwarma was exellent- it´s like kebab but a little bigger pieces and different dressing.

Jimmys killer prawns: Jimmys killer prawns

by gugi66

After a long, long, long day of shopping we just had to sit down and take a coffee since we were in Burjuman mall (see my shopping tip of Burjuman mall) there was plenty to choose from. We finaly found one palce by mistake actually, at the top floor. We sat outside on the top of the Burjuman mall (there was no roof), really cozy with dimmed lights and candels burning quite romantic. Jimmys killer prawns is specialled in seafood, but there are other dishes as well not just seafood. Well we took besides the coffe, Jimmys pancake and Ice cream with cherrys ontop. The deserts was so amazingly decorated and sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.DONT MISS THIS PLACE

Charley´s Grilled Subs: Charley´s Grilled Subs

by gugi66

Great warm subs, really tasty. Well this restaurant is located in a shopping centre so the surroundings wasn´s so great alot of people (and I mean alot) were running and pushing trough the food court. Good and quick service, pictures of the food so you know how it looks when you order. You can find Charley´s Grilled Subs in 4 malls in Dubai (food courts)* Mall of the Emirates* Ibn Battuta Mall* Deira City Centre* Dubai Festival CityDONT MISS ALL OF MY VIDEOS OF CHARLEY´S AND THE FOOD COURT IN MALL OF THE EMIRATES Double Cheese Steak.- Steak, Beef Strips, Cheddar and Mozzarella. And french fries with melted cheddar cheese on top. A big calorie bomb but aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it was worth it.

Biella Ristorante: Biella Ristorante

by gugi66

A cozy Resturant in Wafi Shopping Mall. The surroundings is great but the staff is terrible, we waited over 5 minutes for someone to come to our table (there wasn´t much people inside). The waitress didn´t pay any attention to us when we called her. When we finally got our drinks I asked for the bill right away, it took about 10 minutes to get the bill.

Royal Orchid: Authentic Thai food

by colin_bramso

Another highly recommended restaurant located in Marina Walk at Dubai Marina overlooking the marina. They serve excellent, authentic Thai food, the service is also excellent. You have a choice of three seating areas, inside the two level restaurant, another area outside the restaurant but inside along the walkway of the main bulding, so even in the hot humid summer you can sit outside the restaurant but in air-conditioned comfort, or a third area outside the bulding in the open air. Inside is more formal, outside is more casual. We have favourite dishes that we order in any Thai restaurant. Usually we have Kra Prow, Schechuan Chicken, Chicken Basil Noodles and here they are top quality. As the restaurant isn't in a hotel it doesn't serve alcohol. Don't let that put you off though.
