Ras Al Khaimah general background

The UAE consists of seven emirates, which are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah, Fujairah and Ajman. I’ve been to six of them. Ras al-Khaimah can be translated as "The Top of the Tent”. Its short name is simply RAK. It is in the southern part of the Persian Gulf.The emirate is ruled by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad al-Qassimi.
