You pass through Al Qaidah Town on the way from Ta’iz to Jibla.
The main road goes straight through this small town and we were surprised to see the sign with its name on. The story is that Osama Bin Laden married a girl from there before the main road was built, when it was just a small village.
When the road was built and the town got bigger the town was renamed Al Qaidah which means "The Base."
This is an Islamic Fundamentalist area.
