Palace of Queen Arwa

Built under Queen Arwa's reign between in the 11th century, Queen Arwa’s palace had 365 rooms – one for each day of the year.
It is not possible to visit because it is in a bad state of repair.
You can get a good view of it from the steps of the mosque.

View of Queen Arwa Mosque

In the top of a rocky hill, you can find Arwa´s mosque, builded by this famous queen. The mosque has a wonderful mirhab, and inside it is placed the tomb of the queen. It´spossibel to visit the mosque if you are accompanied by a guide. You can find some english spoken guides in the entrance of the town.

Arwas Palace

It is said these ruins were long time ago the palace of the queen, but it has been proved it was builded some years later, over the old palace of the queen. Anyway, the walls gave you the idea of its size and how impressive should be in the past. Legends said Arwa queen had a different room for each day of the year!

Queen Arwa Mosque

Queen Arwa Mosque was built in 1088 and has twin minarets.
It contains the tomb of Queen Arwa, which we didn't see as we were not allowed inside.

Yemen is a country which anchors you to reality but Jiblah is a place extracted from Arabian Nights. It has retained its antique atmosphere, even in the people's way of life.
