not many choices are there as there were only 2 restaurants on the way. Weird enough one was full of locals and other empty! of course we went to full one, and it was ok. very primitive, local dishes, but fresh and we didnt get any side effects! Just trust your guide, but if you are fussy about places like this - then get snacks with you for a day as there is nothing else on the way

like most short distance(up to 100km) from Sana'a we hired tour guide with car, its easiest way to get 'travel permit' between cities and they know all anyway and not expensive. 90usd for a day, including lunch, car and guide for a day. Dont take 4x4 as its more visable for any unwanted people that you are tourist! take simple car, like us - just mercedes :)

as you drive on the way not much you can shop , but if you need Qat aperantly is best on the way :) I got some theme , fresh dried for tea :)

they all very friendly and like meeting tourists, they are not very spoiled here with them. Usual Yemen - take photo and show them :)

there are NO toilets! We only had a chance to visit one when we stopped for lunch and asked to be taken to one under 3 locks :) wasn't super clean but hm... helped :) Have wet wipes with you and don't expect anything special :)

Favorite thing: was so quiet! its like back in time, and people are just so simple and ladeback. Views are absolutely fantastic!
