There are a lot of shops in Al Hajara for its size and they have a good selection of local crafts and some textiles.
I managed to get a lovely "antique" coat, but had to haggle for a long time - well actually my friend haggled for me! We got down to $50 from $80.

Al Hajara` Tourist Traps

This area of the highlands gets a lot of tourists as it is within driving distance from Sana'a.
Consequently the shopkeepers have learned the art of pestering you to buy/look and are very persistent. The problem is, it is difficult to look because as soon as you show interest they follow you all the way through town. A pity because some of them had some nice goods for sale.
