No doubt the best restaurant on Socotra island is in Adeeb's Eco-lodge. Abdalla Adeeb went for a cooking course in Mercure Hotel in Aden and from his puffy figure you can tell that he loves food. He serves food in palm leaf shelters in his eco-lodge compound located on the beach just outside Hadibo. You don't need to be accommodated there, just come for lunch or dinner. It is necessary to book in advance - tell your tourist guide that you are interested in eating in Adeeb's and he will arrange it for you.
Fresh fish or goat meat is served with greatly seasoned rice, vegetable sauce, fresh vegetable salad, home-made bread, cooked beans etc. For breakfast, Abdalla sometimes serves a very tasty honey made of dates - ask him for it!
Abdalla is very skilled, he can handle dinner parties for 100 people with his charming smile and great cooking art.
Favorite Dish: Grilled kingfish with seasoned rice (cinnamon, coriander, Greek cumin, fried onions) and home-made bread.
You are camping in Socotra, so your driver/guide will be responsible for your meals. Though not very imaginative and rather repetitive they were delicious, cooked with care and praise God the island has fresh fish!
