Rent a Scooter for Beach-Exploring !

by WStat

Rent a car or a scooter at one of the Hamilton hotels and start a slow and relaxed drive around Bermuda's parishes for a "Beach-checking" experience. You won't forget the dozens of small, medium-sized and very large beaches with their characteristic pink sand.Stop for a swim, a relaxed hour of sunbathing and have a drink or lunch at one of the many small cafes and mini-beach restaurants. The pictures shows "my" beach about 20 kms east of Hamilton.

Bermuda Cathedral

by al_mary

"Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity"Designed in early English style with Gothic-revival flourishes, this Anglican cathedral was constructed of Bermuda limestone and imported materials from France, Nova Scotia, and Scotland. The cathedral was completed in 1911, the replacement for an earlier church destroyed by an arsonist in 1884. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ It has a copper roof, unusual in Bermuda's sea of white topped buildings. Inside, the clerestory in the nave is supported by piers of polished Scottish granite, and the choir stalls and bishop's throne are carved of English oak. Of the lovely stained-glass windows, note especially the Angel Window on the east wall of the north transept, which was made by local artist Vivienne Gilmore Gardner. After exploring the interior, you can purchase tickets to climb the 150-odd steps (143 feet) of the tower, from the top of which you can see...

City Hall

by al_mary

There is alot of history here, and it was fun to walk around and check out some of the historical site like the City Hall. There is alot more to Hamilton than being on the beach all day.Take a little time to check outsome of the historical buildings, and other little hidden gems.~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The City of Hamilton, a port city, is the capital and administrative, commercial, entertainment and shopping center of Bermuda. It is named after Henry Hamilton. He was British Lieutenant Governor and then full Governor here from 1788 to 1794 and got this municipality started.
