Bring your swimwear! by Lady-Charisma Try to travel light, but load up on the basic necessities as prices for just about everything are very costly compared to the U.S.
Because I have only been there in the winter, I suggest you bring some light sweaters, a sweatshirt and maybe a nice jacket (like maybe a suit jacket) to go out to dinner in. Bring some jeans (but nice and decent ones because Bermuda leans on the more conservative side) to walk around in, and some evening attire to go out to dinner in.
Like I emphasize earlier...bring any necessary essentials with you, as everything is so costly in Bermuda. If you have the money to spend, everything is available. However, for those of us who are on a tighter budget, you will definitely want to bring basic supplies.
Definitely bring your camera, whether it is a disposable cam, a digital cam, or a video cam, because I assure you that there will be plenty of scenic opportunities to catch on film.
Bring your swimwear because weather can be decent enough to swim in even in the winter season. I was skeptical about that too, but I'm glad I brought my swimsuit because I certainly made use of it! Also, bring clothes and shoes you can walk/hike around in because there are some jungles/parks/beaches that you will have limited access to, if you don't wear the appropriate attire. This is simply because it's not practical to climb any sharp or slippery rocks or cliffs in flipflops or slippers. So, if you are cautious, you would be wise to carry a backpack to hold your flipflops or slippers but wear your sneakers/boots to hike to the beach in.
If you can afford to splurge a little on snacks, carry some with you, but please throw the trash in the proper receptacles. If there are none available, please stow them with you until you are able to find a trash bin. It helps the island maintain its beauty. Also, if you must drink from a glass bottle, please don't throw those along the beach either, as they can cut people strolling along the sand in their bare feet. Thank you for your thoughtfulness! I had the unpleasant experience of standing in line behind a passanger in New York who had showed up at the Airport to go to Bermuda without a Passport or Birth certificate. Than I got to listen to the lady berate the American Airlines staff who would not give her a ticket. Oh lucky me!!!. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative USA law requires all travelers, including U.S. citizens, to and from the Americas, the Caribbean, and Bermuda to have a Passport. If you do not have one get one. This law goes into effect on Jan 8th 2008 but the Bermuda side wants you to have a passport NOW -- although you can still offically use a Birth certificate (with a photo ID) or a certificate of naturalization if it has a photo on it. See the website below for more details. (January 8, 2007 – Passport requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.) Depening on how long you go, a suit case is best to bring, with a carry on bag if you are going by plane
Shorts, swim wear, tank tops, running shoes, sandles, t shirts, and perhaps a sweater for cooler nights. Also dress clothes. You must dress up to go to some resturants, and clubs.
SUN BLOCK. I cannot stress that enough. I got burned so badly so many times there, with sun block on!! And any normal stuff like advil. You can find all that stuff in Bermuda if you wish, but if you are CND or I should say not American, it can get costly.
Camera. Water proof camera, if you want. Batteries can be found on the island for most cameras.
Bring your swimming trunks, a towel, some lotion, water, and sunglasses if you head out to the beach! Which you will!! Leave a Comment

by maitEifion Bring a day back pack and/or fanny pack so when you ride the moped your hands are free. Keep your camera/purse inside the pack--hey it's the world, people can be tempted to snatch an easy target any where. If boating, think of a waterproof bag for camera, valuables, meds, etc. And sun-protective clothing.
It's hot and HUMID in the summer, but don't get sloppy. Try to wear loose fitting, fairly nice clothing. Always be prepared to completely cover up a bathing suit with something decent looking when you go from beach to bar/etc. If you'll be snorkeling, wading,( like for fishing), why not save some dough and bring your own snorkel, booties, flippers? When boating, it's ok to dress like a slob--but wear protective clothing, especially near the water--the sun's STRONG here.
Things are always expensive and sometimes limited selection on islands--bring any products you'll need with you. (especially specialty items, ladies)
Again, think expense--pack a couple extra batteries and rolls of film. If you plan on boating, think about a waterproof bag for your camera.
You will need sunscreen and a hat--save some bucks by bringing it with you. When I was there, the swim suit selection was OK, but nothing really tempted me, might as well bring what you want to wear. Think about bringing your own snorkeling/fishing gear to save on expense of rentals. No real camping opportunities.

Dress casual, but look nice. This is the land of Bermuda shorts. No torn jeans, no short shorts, and no tank tops.
If you are coming from the US, there is no need to exchange money. Most, if not all places take US currency. Leave a Comment

Bring some nice clothes. While dress code in Bermuda tends to be casual, there are some particularly traditional places which either insist upon proper dress or look as if jeans and a t-shirt will not be appropriate. Bring at least one nice jacket and a nice pair of khaki pants. One of the interesting things about Bermuda is you never feel overdressed, even waiting for the plane to arrive in Boston the folks at the gate were dressed quite proper, including the children. This by no means implies of course you can't wear comfortable clothes for touring about, however. A navy blazer gets quite hot under the summer Bermudian sun. Leave a Comment

Everything in Bermuda is expensive, especially long distance phone calls. If you must call back home, get a calling card, or visit a cyber cafe and do email. It'll save on the pocket book. Leave a Comment
