Swizzle Inn: Good Pub Food

by liqdstar

The Swizzle Inn is a pub restaurant a few minutes away from the Grotto Bay Beach resort. Since we went off-season, it was pretty empty, with the exception of a few locals, but I hear it gets crowded in the summer. The food ispretty good, they have some standard AMerican fare such as burgers, but they also have some class english pub fare such as bangers and mash and fish and chips. The portions are large, but the prices are a little high for pub fare, although its probably about average for this expensive island! The place is cute, the walls of the pub are filled with grafitti from past tourists, and the ceiling is full of yellowing business cards. The only con is that they only have 2 beers on tap, but they do have a lot (including stella!) in bottle. i thought that the beer was pretty cheap, a bottle of Stella was $4, which is cheap compared to NY beer prices. The bartenders and waitresses...

The Village Grill in Flatts Village: The AWESOME chicken burger...yes, it really IS !!!

by Sunandlotsafun

This small, casual restaurant is located on the main road through Flatts Village, within walking distance of the aquarium. The prices are quite reasonable (for Bermuda) - with a burger being around $7.50 US or $10.50 for the platter. The cook is VERY friendly as well. I would HIGHLY recommend The Village Grill! They have Indian food but I tried their "Awesome Chicken Burger" and it really IS the BEST chicken burger I have EVER had!!! It is a few pieces of grilled chicken breast with bacon, melted cheese and bbq sauce on a whole wheat bun. ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS!!!

The Pickled Onion: Great place to hang out!

by ReillyGD

This is the place to go in Hamilton. They say lots of celebs stop in for a drink. Great food, great bartender if you want to sit at the bar - try the yummy nachos! Awesome mixed drinks. Or you can hang out/sit on the upper out door deck over looking the street/port. We only had appetizers & drinks. Everything was great & the menu prices were reasonable.

White Horse Tavern: A Must On St. George's Harbor

by Bostongrrl

The White Horse Tavern is a must. It is right in St. Georges Harbor. They have both outdoor and indoor dining. We sat outside and fed the fish. There is also a bar which is hopping at night! The food was excellent! Prices very reasonable. The service was great and waitstaff very friendly.

Cafeteria at the Botanical Gardens: Lunch Bunch

by grandmaR

Since we had breakfast and dinner included in with our hotel price as MAP, we only needed to figure out where to eat lunch. The first day when we went to the Dockyard, we ate at the Clocktower Mall at a place which was sort of like a cafeteria. It was a wet rainy day and the places was packed to the gills. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't super expensive either. The second day we ate at the White Horse in St. George. We both hated the food there - again not cheap, and very little of it. So the third day, we stopped at a bakery and bought rolls and something to drink intending to have a picnic at the Botanical Gardens (which was where we were headed). Quite by accident we discovered that the Botanical Gardens had a good and inexpensive cafeteria. So we ate both the cafeteria food and the food we'd bought.

Birdie's and the Lunch Wagon (Hamilton): Get real local

by Jus_desireable

If you come to Bermuda, and want to experience a real local every day food item, in the city of Hamilton. You have to go to Birdie's lunch wagon. Plus, if you're lucky and it's near the end of the day, you can chill and listen to Winston play his saxaphone for free. The must to dish have here is a beef pie, or as we call it, "a sinker". That's because it's so filling, you feel it going down your stomach as you digest it. Dont be surprised if you get hooked though, it's that tasty.

Portofino Restaurant on...

by Beanie

Portofino Restaurant on Bermudiana Road. It's located downtown, very close to the harbour. It's famous of its pizza and other italian couisine. But my favorite is the shop next to it. It's part of the restaurant. They have the best salad and delicious take-outs. We always go there and buy our lunch (around BMD4-9 dollars) and take them to the Auboy's point. Enjoy the harbour view while we are eating.

L'Oriental. There aren't too many good restaurants in Bermuda in my mind. Most of them offer food like pub food. This is one of the restaurants which has alternatives. Sashimi. that's our favorite. They probably have the most Asian food selections compare to others.

The White Horse Tavern in St. George'sThis restaurant is located right on the water in St. George's. You can dine inside or on the veranda where you have a view of the Deliverance and most of the square. Prices are moderate and the quantity of the food is satisfying. This is a MUST stop every time I visit. The Fish & Chips is super.

Ascot's at the Royal Palms...

by Katira

Ascot's at the Royal Palms definately is the finest we have enjoyed to date. The atmosphere (warm evening? enjoy your meal on the sweeping veranda; too cool? take your fare my the fire) is wonderful. The food is incredible. You'll hope to leave room for dessert. The service is impeccible, but don't rush it. This is one place you'll want to save for a special evening, though, as the cost reflects the setting and quality. The beautiful grounds and charming home make the meal that much more enjoyable. Where to begin?
