If you should venture into St. George's: The Carriage House is a must. My wife had the Wahoo and I had a steak, both were done very nicely, and the staff there is one of the best I've seen on the Island. The prices and selection were very good.Wine of course was pricey and limited.Impressive dining area and a very good wait staff. Steak for me and Wahoo for my wife.

THE PICKLED ONION : We ate in Hamilton for a late lunch that turned out to be an early dinner. One beer, one soup, one hamburger for Alain, a soft drink and a pita-wrap for me : 50$ US!!! But it was very very good and well presented. Portions were good too, but still!!!Nice deco.

In St-George, the most interesting restaurant (opened at that time of year) was CARRIAGE HOUSE. We ate one entrée of mushroom farced with crab (one for both, we had to save hihihi), one turkey sandwich for Alain and one rosbif sandwich for me and a french fried (one for both). Fortunately, we had two free drinks of the house. Still, it cost us 40$ US!You can eat outside, by the waterside...

At Southampton, we ate very well. There is a lot of restaurant there (5, I think). We ate at the buffet that was around 38$US, plus beuverage. Reasonnable for an all you can eat! And very good! They change the menu each night, often by theme.

Make sure to have *BLACK SEAL* rum...virtually everywhere uses this for the 'house' rum, and it is way better than captain morgans. We didn't really dine to much being only 3 days....But after a couple of places in St.Georges (which were open windows and porches) we decided not to go out for dinner in fear of battling off more 'flies'I can't say everywhere has this problem, but we were on a cruise ship and the food was excellent there (and free... but that was only a bonus on holiday) click here for *Black Seal recipies: Black Seal drink recipies

The Plantation: The Plantation

by girlagogo

the atmosphere is totally romantic and caters to only a small amount of people at one time. The service is very personal and relaxing. Fresh caught red snapper lightly sauteed and served with a delicate cream sauce

We actually went to some of the local places because of cost, we didn't go too far out. But a must for the first time visitor is the 'Swizzle Inn' The motto: Swizzle in and Swagger out'Atmosphere was casual and it was crowded when we were there.People sign their names on the walls. All things are home made and authentic. I did notlike the shepard pie much but might have just been me, my travel friends liked it fine

L'Oriental: Fantastic sushi

It's popular and packed so make a reservation - try to sit outside on the terrace. Excellent menu and great vibe. All of the sushi was excellent.
