Vistas GALORE from the top of...

by Seabiscuit

Vistas GALORE from the top of Town Hill Road. This is a residential area that most (if not all) tourists will never see. This is the closest to the top you can get, well, me anyway. Just in front, the body of water is Harrington Sound. Beyond that (across the tree-line) is the Atlantic Ocean. At night, this view is spectacular, and if a Cruise Ship is coming in, all the lights are awesome.

Beaches and Swizzle Inn

by kontac

During the day, we stayed at the beach. The most beautiful water around, the people-watching was great and the weather was fantastic. Later on that night we went to the Swizzle Inn, where their motto was swizzle in-stagger out. We definitely staggered out!

Perfumery

by crusin_tha_world42

Down the road from the Crystal Caves is the Perfumery. It was interesting to see how they made perfume. Nothing to great, but something nice to see. And again, you can buy their Bermuda-made perfume at the end, but it is expensive. You can also tour their gardens, but I didnt do that part.

Rum Cake Factory // Glassblowing

by crusin_tha_world42

In Kings Wharf aka Royal Navy Dockyard, not to far from where my ship (Nordic Empress) docked was the Rum Cake Factory which was attached to the Glassblowing place. 1st of all, these cakes are really expensive, and theyre tiny. For an 8" cake, it was like $20. BUT here at the factory, they give u all the free samples you want (well...not ALL) of each type of cake they make. These cakes taste so wonderful!! You really have to try them. Then the glassblowing place. Its really fun to see how they make glass. They have rows and rows of things you can buy, but again, theyre really expensive. Bermuda is a very rich Island, and really there isnt much thats cheap, its not like the caribbean at all. But of course theres tons of different glass pieces you can choose from in all shapes and sizes. They have really cute little animals and Christmas ornaments that they make, but it will cost you.Keep...

Crystal Caves

by crusin_tha_world42

This was a short thing, but it was a cool little neat thing to see. Its amazing how the water looks so much more shallow but its really like 55 ft. you would never ever guess that from looking at it. One of those things that you should see when u visit.

St. Georges Square

by Bostongrrl

Very pretty square with colorful shops and restaurants. You may run into the pirate! He actually is the owner of a coffee shop down the street that has wonderful coffee and outdoor seating. You might luck out and see his parrot in a tree! Which I did and will add the picture later!

Hamilton the capital

by kare_ab

No-one can go to Bermuda and miss a visit at Hamilton the capital city. (But don't be surprised Bermuda is a small island, therefor Hamilton has to be a small capital...) As far as I know every Wednesday they have market in Hamilton. No, no, not a market with fruits, vegtables, ..., just a market for tourist with some small nice staff. (candles, photos, tatoo stickers, ...)

Fort Hamilton

by zChris

Located above the City of Hamilton on Happy Valley Road, the walk to the Fort is a steep climb but well worth it. From its ramparts one has a beauiful panoramic view of the city and its surroundings. In the fort itself are historic cannon and a primevil forest concealed in what was formerly a moat. Wandering through the confusing brick passageways of the fort is not reccommended for the weak of heart, but anyone should be alright on top of the walls. I had actually dismissed the fort as a potential attraction until a waitress on Front Street pointed it out...thank god she told us about it! You can see a view snapped of Hamilton on this page as well as on the Hamilton page, and for some balance, here's a photo of Paget, the parish across the harbour.

A Boat Trip Around the Island

by Seabiscuit

Nothing is more revealing and enchanting than a boat trip around the Island. You'll see places you never would by land. This is Gibb's Hill Light House from the water. It's kinda 'touristy', but great to see.

by Weener

Front Street, Hamilton, is a great place to go shopping, eating, or just to watch the harbour as the cruise ships dock. Check out the policeman in the cage that directs traffic in the middle of the road!
