Main Street in Hamilton is nice for window shopping but the majority of the stores are over-priced because everything has to be imported. The hardest part of buying soveniers here was finding something that was actually made in Bermuda. Don't look for these shops to be of any help.
DO NOT GO to Dennis' Hideaway no matter how good the reviews are. We went and it was our only unpleasant experience in our many trips to Bermuda. Not only didn't they have the ingredients for the 'fish dinner with the works', they had no ingredients at all. We were offered a choice of fried shrimp or fried fish (both came with french fries), When we ordered, Sea Dog (the owner's son) got on his motor bike and toodled off to get the fish. Dennis's is so out of the way that it cost us $25 each way (from Harrington Sound). Then our basic 'fish and chips' dinner cost us another $25 each bringing the total to $100!!! By the time we got back to the hotel, we were starving. This is definitely a 'DO NOT GO' place.
If you're going to swim with dolphins, do it in Florida where it's 1/4 the price. You'll spend a few hundred dollars in Bermuda.
