The Snack: Same Place; Different Colour

Still a great place for easy fastfood, but the appearance has changed.
It brunt down in a fire a couple years ago and was rebulit. It's now a lot smaller and green.
It's expensive but welcome to Iqaluit, its expensive here so good luck finding a decently priced meal.

Fantasy Palace

The Fantasy Palace is a nicely decorated cafe with fresh coffee, pastries and ice cream. It is a great little place and very popular.

The locals will tell you the cafe's original owner made the place famous for her daily display of her belly button and the place is often referred to as the belly button cafe.

Favorite Dish: The Ice Cream was very fresh.

Subway and Paddy's

If your in the mood for fast food or something you are familiar with Subway is located in the downtown area with another little spot called Paddy's.

Food and meals in Iqaluit is a little expensive and in places like this you can keep your cost down a little if you are on a tight budget.

Favorite Dish: I had the classic breakfast at Paddy's and it was fine.

Navigator Inn

I tried the Navigator Inn on a Friday and the Chinese buffet was excellent. I would highly recommend.

It seemed to be a very popular place as well in Iqaluit.

The Navigator Inn is also a strategically placed hotel but I can't offer any comments on the quality or price of the rooms.

The Snack

If you are in the mood for some simple but good take out food and can try the Snack.

You will notice there are a lot of french people in Iqaluit and thus the poutine also looked great at this place.

Favorite Dish: Double Meat Cheese Burger

Frobisher Inn Restuarant: Local cuisine with EXCELLENT service!

Local dishes (caribou stew, muqtuq) are a big pleaser at this restuarant, though you can plan on paying quite a bit for the delacacies. The service is exceptional, especially if you're lucky enough to get Kathy or Glenn as your servers. Non smoking, low lit, and the place in Iqlauit for fine dining.

Favorite Dish: I have sinple tastes, so I'm gonna go with the pizza, but people seem to like the caribou stew, and I can say that the cheesecake is outstanding.
