    Peake's: Down by the waterfront

    by fairy_dust Updated Jun 12, 2006

This is an open-air nightclub on the second floor of a building at Peake's Quay. Cover and drinks are expensive, but the place is great. The bands there are usually good. Sometimes it can get stuffy and hot, but if you want fresh air you can always go to the balcony.

Peake's is only open in the summer. You can't really party in an open-air place in the dead of winter here. Since many of the other bars in town have a bad reputation (Myron's and the Velvet Underground are both notorious for being a meat market), everyone goes to Peake's so it can get very crowded (especially on weekends). It's best to show up before 11pm if you want to avoid a long wait in line.

Dress Code: Anything goes. People usually dress either casual or trendy/stylish.
