This is a wonderful little shop.... On the opposite side of banff Avenue to most of the other shops. Is a store which is part of the friends of Banff national park charitable organization. These are committed to increasing the awareness and appreciation of Banff National Park, which I think is a worth place to go spend my money over many of the "gift shops" as i know my money is going back into keeping Banff Beautiful.

What to buy: The store, really takes some looking round, with some gorgeous prints, local books, and then many various different items which would make great gifts for you and the family. I spent a fair amount of money in here, but well, cant think of a better place to spend it in Banff.

What to pay: from $1 up to as much as you want to spend

    Lori Shopping in Banff

I loved window shopping and just browsing at the many different shops in Banff. There were souvenir stores, the official "Mountie Store", outdoor clothing stores, T-shirt shops and so on. And while you're walking you can take in the beautiful view of the Cascade Mountains.
In this picture, taken by Hans (Waalewiener) here I am in the white jacket (bottom right corner) just taking my time looking around.

    Banff Avenue

What to buy: A Qiviuk or Alpaca Sweather. Qiviuk...a Canadian fibre...finer than cashmere.
Qiviuk is the Inuvialuit word for down: the fine, inner, insulating down of the Canadian Arctic Muskox. Qiviuk is the softest, warmest and most luxurious natural fibre in the world.

The Jacques Cartier Clothier store is a great place. You will enjoy all your time on Banff Avenue there is plenty of shopping for everyone!

Tourist Shop-Lookout Pt (yikes, usu nvr buy fm such: Banff pullovers

    Go get some Banff Identity

As these shops are such tourist traps, i wouldn't advise buying from such places, but i guess business was so bad, everything was reduced drastically! We got these jumpers for CAN$24 (for 2).

What to buy: We loved the 'Banff' thing on the jumpers, cos see in Singapore the only thing pple know abt Banff is the famous Banff Film Festival. So it was really nice to own this jumper :)

What to pay: Most things cost from CAN$2 up.

They had some pretty interesting bookmarks made from Canadian dried flowers, and some natural stuff that we were attracted to as well. Eerr, Zal is the shopaholic between the 2 of us :p I just follow :)

    Cows: Bovine, devine

by VTShounen Written Oct 21, 2002

I believe this started as an ice cream store, but it has now expanded to a store that sells anything and everything bovine. Cow t-shirts, cookie jars, backpacks. Tres cute! Awesome window display too. If you're browsing on Banff Ave, stop by for sure. To be honest, I've never tried their ice cream, so can't comment.

What to buy: THE store to get those cow-print pajamas that you know you've always wanted.

What to pay: Not too bad for a novelty store in a resort town.
