    Hiking in Banff National Park

by Jefie Written Apr 28, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

With over 1,600 km of trails, Banff National Park definitely is a hiking wonderland! Hikers can choose to go on a quick one-hour walk around a lake or on a month-long backcountry or mountain excursion. Parks Canada officers can help you make the best of whatever time you've got!

Equipment: Check out the Parks Canada Website to get all the information you need, including warnings and dangers.

    Golfing with Elk?

by mydreamquest Written Nov 16, 2004

Golfing in Banff is definitely an experience. Imagine getting ready to drive when you see about 20 elk on your course? Normally, you'd scream them off, but trust me, these critters aren't going anywhere. Hedge your score and slice your opening shot with a 3 iron AWAY FROM THE ELK!!! Unless you like the idea of being hoofed in the jaw.

    Equipment: Bring your golf gear.

    sking and snowboarding

Around Jasper and Banff National Parks the facilities for skiing and snowboarding are second to none. We did not have time ourselves but everyone we met said there were so many areas in the Rockies to do these sports.
We visited Lake Louise Mountain Ski Area with the little Lodeg where you could ski ri;ght up to the door and have lunch or dinner etc.

Equipment: If you cannot have all your own ski gear there are facilites to hire or buy whilst in the Rockies
