You may not like the atmosphere as this restaurant is located in a food court, but it sure is worth the crowds and aggravation.
Favorite Dish:
You have your choice of the small, medium or large plate. The two times that I was there, we purchased the small plate and we were stuffed after finishing the meal. I would suggest that you try the Cajun Rice, Green Beans and Teriyaki Chicken....so delicious!!!
Bagels are enormously popular. They are low in fat, calories and cholesterol, yet high in protein and carbohydrates...they are healthy, delicious food enjoyed by young and old alike.
Favorite Dish:
I had the Roast Beef Bagel Combo (which came on a Cheddar Cheese Bagel with a generous portion of roast beef, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, mayonaise, salt and pepper) with chips and a drink on the side.
This long-established steak house (which has been offering up Alberta prime for more than two decades) has conquered the hearts of many locals and visitors alike. With it's Roman/Greek theme and lush burgundy leather and brass surroundings, the name is virtually synonymous with comfortable surroundings and great food. If you want charcoal-broiled steaks, ribs, lamb, chicken and seafood...then this is the place for you
Favorite Dish:
Start off with your choice of Toasted Garlic or Cheese Bread. While you savor that choice your host will then serve a tasty bowl of French Onion Soup (along with the cheese and croutons). After soup is finished, the next course is a delicious Garden Salad (with the dressing of your choice). Now comes the main portion...I choose the 10 oz. New York Strip (medium rare/medium) with a Stuffed Potato on the side while me birthday partner had the 10 oz. Filet Mignon. A truly orgasmic experience to say the least.
The ambience can be termed as "smooth jazz". =) We sat at the lounge area because the dining section was full. Instead of entrees, we sampled a variety of appetizers and desserts accompanied by martinis.
Favorite Dish:
The Ahi Tuna Sashimi!!!!!!!! One of the many delicious appetizers there. In terms of drinks, going with the recommendation of the waitress, I tried the Chambord Royale and it was YUMMY. Not your typical martini as it's a lil sweet but YUMMY non the less. It's a mix of chambord, pineapple and cranberry juice with raspberry vodka.
Award-winning cuisine by Mamma Erica. Home-style pasta, bread, dessert and an extensive southern-style Italian menu. Wonderful italian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and friendly people.
Favorite Dish:
For starters try the Bruschetta (toasted french bread covered with diced roma tomatoes and parmesean cheese) or a dinner salad. For dinner, try one of the following: Chicken Stuffed with Seafood in a cream sauce with potatoes, carrots and broccoli, the rolled Rib-eye Steak stuffed with riccotta cheese and parsely in madera sauce which comes with potatoes and other vegetables (please note that this was a daily special and may not be served everyday) or the Pollo ahi Funghi which is a chicken breast smothered in a creamy mushroom gravy with potatoes and other vegetables. You have to have red wine with these, if you are not sure which one to have, ask the waitress/waiter. To finish off the event and this is of course if you've got room, you have to try the homemade mouth-watering Chocolate Mousse (made with Bernard Callebaut chocolate)....OMG you will think you died and went to heaven. Take home the Tiramisu (made from scratch everyday, nothing from cans!).
Casual dining italian restaurant with emphasis on pasta, veal, seafood and chicken. Their portions are large and prices are reasonable ($6.00 to $9.00/CND) with ample parking at rear. Would highly recommend making reservations.
Favorite Dish:
hmmmmm....let's see if I can fully describe this wonderful meal. Start off with one of the following appetizers, you can't go wrong: Calamari, Prawns in garlic butter or Olives in tomato sauce. After you fill up on that, the waiter/waitress brings hot bread so that you can dip it in olive oil and balsamic vinegar...oh so good!!! For dinner, the restaurant has a large menu to choose from, but this night I decided to try the Fusilli Combo which came with egg, bacon and shrimp in a fettuccini sauce...words can't begin to describe how awesome this meal was!!! A nice bottle of red wine is the perfect accompaniment to this fabulous meal... Buon Appetite!!!
Western, Pacific Rim, Mediterranean and Italian cuisine.
Favorite Dish:
Start the night off with a side order of bread accompanied by olive oil & red wine vinaigrette for dipping. For dinner, I would recommend two options, the first being Roasted Chicken Marsala topped with mushrooms and roasted potatoes on the side, the second being Baked Salmon topped with a white chive sauce and vegetables. Since it was very cold outside, I decided to warm up by having coffee mixed with Bailey's Irish Creme...yummy!!!
You can dine in, order take-out or have your food delivered. We did the take-out route both times and it sure was worth it. The portions are huge as well as delicious and there are many options to cover all tastes.
Favorite Dish:
Try any of the following...you will not be disappointed: Beef with Broccoli & Mushrooms, Salt & Pepper Spareribs, Diced Chicken in Bean Sauce with Cashew Nuts, Fried Rice with Mixed Vegetables or Scallops in Black Bean Sauce.

I was in Calgary for a 2 week vacation when we received a notice that fellow VT'er Redlats and his wife would be in town for a couple days and wanted to get together. Hmmmmm...a mini-VT meeting at a nice restaurant would be nice, so we decided on Buon Giorno. Buon Giorno is a casual dining restaurant with great atmosphere, food and decor. Reservations are recommended and it also offers outdoor patio seating.
Favorite Dish:
The waiter starts you off with homemade bread and butter. For an appetizer I would recommend the Stuffed Mushrooms (cheese, seafood and spices) and then for dinner the Chicken stuffed with Shrimp and then covered with a creamy alfredo sauce with pasta on the side is an excellent choice.
You select your favorite ingredients, add sauces, the chef weighs and grills your platter and you enjoy your meal with complimentary steamed rice, soup and Mongolian wraps.
Favorite Dish:
Create any dish you want for the price you want (choose from 36 items such as...beef, pork, chicken, seafood, lamb, tofu, nuts and seeds, noodles, vegetables and sauces, etc).

Calgary has a great range of dining options. Many of the most popular restaurants are concentrated downtown, on 17th Avenue SW or in Mission (4th Street SW), but other great options exist...
