Some people prefer Lake Louise but I prefer Sunshine resort. Both are easy day trips from Calgary or stay in Canmore or Banff. The terains are very different from each other so visit both places and you won't be dissapointed! Enjoy!

The nearby Rockies offer fabulous skiing opportunities. Lots of places to ski with great snow. My personal favourite is Sunshine Village. Others in the area include: Lake Louise, Mt. Norquay, Panorama, and Nakiska. Recently I took up snowboarding and definitely prefer it to skiing. I had some great instructors at Mt. Norquay and the lessons were reasonably inexpensive. I highly recommend it!

There are three ski areas near Banff, all very good. My favourite is Sunshine Village close to the continental divide.

If you like snowboarding or Sking. Head to one of a number of excellent mountain resorts such as Sunshine Villiage, Lake Louise or Nakiska just west of Calgary.
