On a frosty December evening we headed to the Botanic Garden for Luminaria. Held in the Japanese garden, thousands of Japanese lanterns light the pathways. A peaceful walk as you look upon the various ice sculptures, stand beside the bonfire drinking hot apple cider, listening the carolers singing, and sometimes hear the twinkling laughter of the 'snow sprites', and maybe even lucky enough to see them. In addition there is Memory Lane where, for a donation, you can light your own candles for your own loved ones.

Parking is limited at the Gardens. There is a free park-and-ride shuttle service, just 5 kms south of the Garden in the Town of Devon. The location for the park-and-ride is 17 Athabasca Avenue in Devon (in the parking lot beside the Devon Public Library)
