Bungy Tower, Water Park, WEM by jamiesno At the water park in the West Edmonton Mall you can bungy jump!!! I have to say for $80 I got a video and the thrill of my life. I was shacking for about an hour later, got wet from the waist up but I couldn't get the smile off my face for at least a couple of days. It was awesome. It is a 106 foot drop!! Here is a picture I took of the tower recently at the mall.
They have all the necessary equipment which includes the bungy cord. Leave a Comment

FIFA is coming to Canada!! From June 30-July 22, 2007, Canada will be host to 24 teams of young men from around the world. Some of these games will be held in Edmonton! The dates for the Edmonton games are July 2,5,8,11,14 (quarter-final game), and 18 (semi-final game). The tickets are incredibly cheap, ranging from $10.75-$32, depending on where you are sitting and which game it is. There are also ticket packages ranging from $100-$300. Some people may think it will be boring, but keep in mind Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and Wayne Rooney (England) were only 21 and 20 during the 2006 World Cup! Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.ca The other Canadian cities that are playing host are Burnaby, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Victoria. You know I'll be there!! I hope to see you there too! Theme: OtherAddress: Stadium Rd. and 112 Ave.Directions: Take the train to Stadium Station from the University or Downtown.Website: www.fifa.com

Ever wanted to bungy jump over a body of water, but to do it indoors? Hmm, not me, but if that's you, then you can do it here in Edmonton. Where else, but at West Edmonton Mall, at the World Waterpark, the world's largest water park. Leave a Comment Theme: Extreme Sports

For a city that's so often slandered for its winters, surprisingly there is only a period of about 3 months in the year when the ice condition is good enough to skate on outside. The popular ones that I am aware of are: City Hall (the reflection pool in front of the main entrance), the Legislature (the little patch of ice down the hill from the flame in the back of the building), the Victoria Oval (big patch of man-made ice in Victora Park), Rundle Park and Hawrelak Park. The latter two are frozen man-made lakes in the river valley.
Just bring your skates. If you need you can rent at some locations as well. Aside from that, no extra cost is involved. Cheap cheap fun. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Edmonton has 3 ski hills, and one more just outside the city. They are cheap and easy to get to - Edmonton Ski Club is less than 5 minutes from downtown! If you're here in winter and looking for something different to do.. well you could head out to the Rockies, but barring that, why not kill a few hours skiing? The ski hills are: Edmonton Ski Club Snow Valley Sunridge Rabbit Hill
Renting is very cheap as well. How more can I emphasize this? Cheap cheap cheap! Leave a Comment Theme: Skiing/Snowboarding

The Edmonton Oil Kings are a Western Hockey League team that started in Edmonton for the 2007-08 season. The Western Hockey League is the top junior league in Western Canada and is a part of the Canadian Hockey League. This is the second best hockey you'll get in Edmonton, next to the NHL squad, the Edmonton Oilers. But for the price, The Oil Kings are of much better value. Both teams play at the NHL arena Rexall Place, and an Oilers seat that will cost you $200, will cost you about $25 for an Oil Kings game. Although it isn't top tier hockey, it is fast-paced and high energy because the players are trying to get drafted into the NHL and impress the scouts who are always paying attention. The Oil Kings sell themselves as being family-oriented hockey (probably because most people can afford to bring family to a game) so it is a different atmosphere than an Oilers game (where there is more drinking and rowdier fans). If you are looking to catch a quality hockey game and either can't get Oilers tickets or just want to spend less, the Oil Kings are a great option. Tickets range from $17-$35, plus service charge. Although this Oil Kings team has only been around since '07, previous Oil Kings franchises existed from 1950-1979. Victoria Golf Course, in the river valley by VTShounen The city is riddled/blessed with loads of golf courses. Victoria Park Golf Course, just down the hill from downtown, is the country's oldest municipal golf course, and remains today a very popular golf course. There are dozens of others in and bordering the city. Pictured here is the Victoria Park Golf Course (taken from mi casa! ^o^) with the U of A campus in the background across the river.
