A quick round of golf at the Kinsmen Pitch and Putt. Whether you're a pro or a beginner, this Par 3 course (longest yard was prolly 90 yards??), this course is quiet and sheltered with many tall trees to block out the sights and sounds of the city
None of the course's 18 holes come in over 100 yards, allowing most golfers to navigate it with just one or two irons and a putter. However, if you're playing in the summertime, please make sure you spray or put on some mosquito repellent.

One of the most visited places for both locals and world travellers is West Edmonton Mall, the world's largest shopping centre.

Other attractions: The Provincial Museum, The Odyssium (science centre and planetarium and Imax Theatre), the University of Alberta (more than 30,000 students), the Muttart conservatory, the famous parks of the river valley (North Saskatchewan River), and of course the many cultural activities that make Edmonton a hive of activity year round.

High on the list is the beautiful Winspear Centre concert hall (pictured on the left) which is now installing the second largest pipe organ in Canada with 6551 pipes and two consoles, it is scheduled to have the inaugural concert on September 14.

Other cultural activities include the Fringe Festival, the Edmonton Folk festival, the Heritage Days festival held in Hawrelak Park in the first week of August. Oh, and lest we forget-Klondike Days in mid July which celebrates the Klondike gold rush of '98 when Edmonton was a terminus of activity for the goldseekers.

    Klondike Days
For 10 days each summer, Edmonton gets back to its roots with the annual Klondike Days. Celebrating the Gold Rush era of the late 1800's, K-Days is a community-wide event for all ages and tastes. Activities take place all over the city, with the Klondike Days Exhibition at Northlands, the Sourdough Raft Race on the river, and daily shows at Sir Winston Churchill Square.

The Francis Winspear Centre for Music opened its doors in September 1997. The Centre is the permanent home of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and several other music organizations. The Winspear Centre is a music performance hall, as opposed to a multi-purpose hall. It comprises an 1,800 seat main hall and a smaller rehearsal space, plus large public spaces. It is located on Sir Winston Churchill Square in the heart of the city, directly across the street from the Citadel Theatre (Canada's largest regional theatre facility).

When in Edmonton I highly recommend going to an Edmonton Oilers game. We Albertains are very fond of our Hockey teams especially the Oilers.
If hockey is not your sport that I can also recommend attending a Edmonton Eskimo's football game. Also one of ALberta's two CFL teams. Chances are we have a sports team that will meet your tastes.

Landmark of Edmonton that is often seen on postcards: the Muttart Conservatory. Rather small, its location makes it worthwhile seeing.
West Edmonton Mall: although voted as Edmonton's eyesore of the year 1999, it is a good place to go when you don't know what else to do. This picture shows the Muttart Conservatory in April 1999.

Catch a show/play at the Citadel Theater in downtown.
Different plays are being put on each season and some of them have been gems.
