The Citadel Theatre is not only a BEAUTIFUL building, it's practical, too! If you want to attend a play, that is!
The name is rather deceiving. The Citadel "Theatre" is not a single theatre, but, a collection of theatres!
There are numerous shows being performed simultaneously.
Very entertaining!
OR, if you simply want to go for a walk (even in the dead of winter), the building is fantastic! The indoor garden and water features are beautiful. A favorite spot for photographers and folks looking for a tranquil spot to unwind.

There was also outdoor stage and street entertainment (those pesky mosquitoes at night), and we were going to go to a comedy club show. However, when we were in line someone was checking IDs and since you were supposed to be 18, we chickened out. It was too bad (despite probably more risque material) because Matt loves improv

The Francis Winspear Centre for Music opened its doors in September 1997. The Centre is the permanent home of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and several other music organizations. The Winspear Centre is a music performance hall, as opposed to a multi-purpose hall. It comprises an 1,800 seat main hall and a smaller rehearsal space, plus large public spaces. It is located on Sir Winston Churchill Square in the heart of the city, directly across the street from the Citadel Theatre (Canada's largest regional theatre facility).
