If you enjoy looking at, browsing through, or buying antiques, then this is one of two best shops in Chemainus to go to!
Most of the stuff they have is authentic...what one would expect to see in an antique store...not just crap picked up at garage sales, thrift stores, or from garbage bins by some phoney "antique dealers" who want to cash in by taking advantage of people's ignorance of what constitutes a good antique.
I'm not sure how long this business will be able to offer quality antiques (at reasonable prices) as it seems most of the antique stores have become quite "junky" the last couple of years.
Here's a real treasure trove for Antique lovers!!!
There are SO MANY antiques here, but most of them are small. Don't expect to find any furniture or larger items here.
Lots of household antiques, fine glassware, jewellery, and everyday objects.
It has gone down in quality a little bit (for what it's offered these past couple of years) but there are still some good things to find if you look carefully.
Allow yourself about an hour (or more) to have a really good look.
This bakery has been operating in Chemainus for 50 years!
They offer really good and absolutely DELICIOUS baked goods!!!
They bake their breads and pastries using only natural products with no additives or preservatives in the ingredients.
The owners/ bakers...a married couple who bought the bakery about a year ago, really seem to enjoy their job and take great pride in their creations!
The prices are very reasonable.
Since there is a small dining area in the bakery, it makes it very easy and enjoyable to sample one or more of their pastries with a cup of coffee...YUM!!! :o)
What to buy: You MUST try the 'COPENHAGEN' .... an absolutely sublime pastry ... direct from heaven to your mouth!!!
It's the bakery's most popular pastry, so get there by early afternoon, at the latest, or there won't be any left!
