After many years in Kamloops, my favorite bookstore has closed its doors. The owners, David and Nathalie, have retired. Please be aware that Merlin books will likely still be included in many directories and guides for the next few years until new editions can be updated.
If you are looking for books in Kamloops, try Chapters in Aberdeen, or At Second Glance used books on the 400 block of Victoria St.

The Farmers Market is one of my favorite summer features in Kamloops. The market runs Saturdays and Wedensdays in downtown Kamloops. The Saturday market is the bigger of the two. Basically, it's your typical farmer's market: farmers, artisans and other vendors bring their wares to be sold to the throngs of weekend shoppers. Everything is fresh and tasty!
The best thing about the Farmers Market is that there is lots to see. There are always buskers and club information. The food isn't necessarily the cheapest, but you won't find anything fresher anywhere in the city!
What to buy: Some of my favorite vendors at the Farmers Market include Fresh is Best, who sell fresh salsa and tortilla chips, and also a cheese merchent who sells fresh goat cheese.
What to pay: About average. Produce prices vary depending on what you're buying, and whether or not you're buying organic. You can buy a fresh loaf of bread for under $2. Fresh flowers are about $5-$15 a bunch.
