Sharkey's seafood bar and grille: Fantastic fresh seafood
What a fantastic atmosphere!! This tavern style family restaraunt is filled with unique items, (you have to see it to understand). The staff is super friendly and you they extend themselves to make you comfortable. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Great place for a date, family dinner or just to grab a beer and watch the big game!
Favorite Dish: The fish and chips taste delicious and are not greasy. Chicken and prawn linguini is delicious but my favourite dish is the cioppino. It's a caesar salad as well as a big dish of fresh seafood in a delicious broth. Crab, mussels, clams, salmon and so much more. Yummy!

Sharkey's: Sharkey's Seafood Restaurant - Delicious!
This is my favourite restaurant in Ladner, and one of my favourites in the whole lower mainland area. The fish is spectacular and there are other forms of food to choose from as well, like steak, chicken - usual fare. The seafood is what it's known for though, and it seems to be a popular place for a good meal.
I always eat here on birthdays and special occasions, when I don't go out to the city.
The service is good, the decor is centered around fishing and the sea, with old photos of Ladner on the walls, and cheeky shark cartoons on the chalkboards advertising the drink specials. There is a bar and lots of cool mixed drinks to pick from. In warmer weather there's a great outdoor patio to dine on with a view of the water.
Favorite Dish: 98% of the time I order the poached salmon - it used to be slathered in dill butter but now it is covered in dijon mustard sauce and still extraordinarily good. I get it with 7 grain rice or small potatoes. It comes with steamed veggies. Yum!

Boston Pizza: Yummy Pizza + Pasta!
This is a great place to eat, and probably the place most people go to if they're in Ladner for the evening and want to go for dinner. It's certainly the most popular.
They have great pizza - lots of choices and it's very tasty. They have lots of pasta choices, including mixing types and sauces of your choice together. They have cheap pasta night on Tuesday (I think) and free refills on soda. There's also sandwiches and other main meals, as well as a good selection of appetizers and salads.
There's a bar available and a lounge area with large screens for hockey games, etc. A lot of people go there to watch the game. Service is pretty good here, though it has it's ups and downs.
Favorite Dish: I tend to get the same things all the time. My favourites here are:
- 4 cheese pizza, though I don't think it's listed on the menu anymore, it's still available.
- potato skins - yummy
- penne pasta with alfredo sauce and a salmon fillet
the garlic bread is also very good!

Uncle Herbert's: Fish 'n chips & ginger beer!
This is probably one of the only authentic British styled restaurants in all of Greater Vancouver, located right in Ladner's town centre.
Uncle Herbert's is a British styled fish 'n chips shop and pub under one roof. If fish 'n chips aren't your fancy, have some Boddington's bitter, a steak & kidney pie, or some ginger beer.
British memorabilia from various decades hangs tastefully on the the walls, though keep an eye out for autographed head-shots of Scully and Mulder who previously used Uncle Herberts as an X-Files film location.
Favorite Dish: The Fish 'n Chips! And the ginger beer.
Ginger beer is a rare find at most restaurants in Greater Vancouver. While many local restaurants serve the sweet "ginger ale" - (as in Schwepps), the spicy ginger beer is relatively unheard of.
Some speciality stores import ginger beer from the UK and Jamaica, but Uncle Herberts is one of the few restaurants that actually serves it on the menu! Good for them!
For British style pub and comfort food, Uncle Herbert's is the place to be!
Sharkey's Seafood Bar & Grill: Seafood galore!
This is probably my favourite casual seafood restaurant in Greater Vancouver. One: The ambience wins you over immediately. They're like a maritime pub, except it's a full-fledged restaurant for all ages. There's a lot of dark oak on both the walls and in the furniture. The chairs and tables do not match, giving it an antiquarian look. And the local marine artwork and fishing artifacts give Sharkey's an extra touch.
Two: most importantly, the food is amazing. It's simple, west-coast seafood cuisine... but boy do they know how to cook it! One of my favourites is the Prawn Express. But their menu is so huge... you could go there every day in one month and order something different. On the website listed below, check out their menu!
Favorite Dish: Manhattan Clam Chowder is divine... tastes like a gourmet bisque! Their steamers are to die for as well, especially their "Prawn Express" steamer. For $12.99 (Canadian dollars) you get a pound of tiger prawns with clams - both in the shell - simmered in a seasoned white wine broth with sautéed onions and peppers. It's served in a black metal pot... it's simple food, but delicious!
