Mission Things to Do

  • Head to Hemlock

Though Hemlock is actually located in Agassiz (between Mission & Harrison), I decided to post it to my Mission travel page. It's a pretty short drive to Hemlock from the area, and worth visiting - especially if during the winter months. Our first visit was in December of 2014 as a day trip to let our little girl play in the snow. We hadn't had...

  • Cool off at Hayward Lake

Located north in Mission, near the border with Maple Ridge and the hydro electric dam, is Hayward Lake. It's our favourite place to escape to on hot summer days, as it doesn't seem to get quite as busy as other beaches in the area, and has a nice sandy beach for little one's to play on. The water is cool and the scenery is beautiful. We've also...

  • Visit the Market

If you are in or around Mission during the summer months, the Mission Farmer's Market is always worth a visit! Taking place every Saturday from 9am - 1pm in the back of the library parking lot you will find lots of wonderful things! Fresh produce, lovely preserves, locally made goods (including my favourite soap and shea butter lotions),...

  • Head to the Park

Heritage Park is such a great space in Mission. The park is huge so it's perfect to go out for a stroll with the little one's or furry friends. There is also a big sandbox with lots of toys, which our daughter is a huge fan of! In the summer it's a great spot for all of the outdoor events they have. Festivals and outdoor concerts are only some of...

Mission, BC is blessed with some of the most spectacular mountain scenery, fabulous sport fishing, and some of BC's best hiking and biking trails.Mission Raceway Park in Mission, BC.Home track of the NHRA PRO BRACKET WORLD CHAMPION Martin Rachel. If you would like to learn more about British Columbia's Fraser Valley and surrounding region, please...

Westminster Abbey is on a 180 m elevation above the Fraser River, a 200-acre site that includes the abbey grounds, farm, and seminary campus. Its most distinctive feature is the abbey church and its tower with a ring of ten bells; these may be heard Sunday mornings for fifteen minutes before the 10:00 o'clock Mass, and on Sunday afternoons for...

Mission Restaurants

  • The "Greasy Spoon" Spot

Rocko's is your typical diner, with that 50's type of vibe. Red booths, chrome accents and a friendly comfortable atmosphere. It's the place you'll go if you're looking for that greasy spoon breakfast, a quick lunch or a late night bite after you're out for drinks. It's open 24 hours a day, always serving breakfast and perfect for the whole...

  • Local and Fresh Food

The Blackberry Kitchen is small and friendly with a fantastic view overlooking the Fraser Valley. It's hard to miss when you arrive at the park, as it's the large cottage on the south side of the park. The interior is small and cozy and the staff are always so friendly. It doesn't matter what time of day you go, you will find something on the menu...

  • Great Lunch Spot!

English Tarts is exactly the type of gem that a small town like Mission needs. If you are in the area, this is the place to stop for a little baked goodie, a yummy lunch or even for afternoon tea! The food is fresh daily and their baked goods and fresh bread are fantastic! They have a great selection of loose leaf teas that are made locally and the...

The Candy Shack opened in Mission in the summer of 2014 and it was a very welcome addition to our downtown area! The owners are incredibly friendly and always willing to chat, and you will be greeted by their very friendly dog as well. The candy selection is fantastic and it's our #1 spot to go for a treat for ourselves or when we want something special for our little one - it's where we get a lot of her holiday treats and she always loves them!
