on September 23, 2007It's off the main road, up a staircase and very much out of the way. That doesn't seem to stop people from coming though as they were doing pretty brisk business the night I came (Monday).
The place seems like it doesn't really know what it wants to be. It is a brewpub and they have their own beer, but it's kind of a sports bar in that there are a few TVs, but also somewhat of a restaurant in that there are booths. But, strangely enough, the bar is tiny: room for about five people max.
The ambiance is pretty awful. It's all carpeted and they keep the lights at a level where it's just light enough to be annoying but just dim enough to make seeing uncomfortable.
There were a lot of people hanging out on the patio (they have a spectacular view) smoking, and several others just sort of hanging around inside and drinking, including a few bar flies.
Their beer was disappointing, but certainly wasn't the worst I had in Vancouver.
Seemed a little nice when walking in, but it's casual
