Head for the Chilcotin country...
Favorite thing: Head for the Chilcotin country for wilderness at its best! Pictured is magnificent Chilko Lake, nestled in the Coast Range, unspoiled, rugged and pristine. The dust cloud at the base of the mountain across the lake is actually a cloud of pine pollen being blown off the lodgepole pine trees on the slopes of the mountain. (click for a larger view)
Fondest memory: An abundance of great fishing will also lure you to this area.
There are hundreds of lakes and in the Cariboo region that are know for their fantastic rainbow trout fishing. Most lakes are accessible from the networks of logging roads that crisscross much of the area. Other lakes are fly-in from centres like Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Quesnel, Nimpo Lake, Bella Coola, and Prince George.
