What a great restaurant! No deep fried food at all! The restaurant theme is left handedness so there are many references to this in their menu items. SouthPawtatoes instead of french fries,... that's roasted potatoes to you and me!

The walls are brightly painted. There is an outside seating area and a family room area as well. Lots of windows. Not a huge restaurant, it's cozy and comfortable for a casual meal.

There's another Leftys in nearby Parksville as well.

Favorite Dish: One of us had steak, one had turkey sandwich and i had a burger with salad. We all loved our meals. They also have vegetarian offerings as well.

Qualicum Beach is about 30 km north of Nanaimo on highway 19. The ferry from the mainland of BC docks in Nanaimo. There's bus service and rail service from Victoria and there is a small private airport as well. There is also local transit bus from nearby Parksville.

Smithford's in Qualicum Beach is a wonder to behold! It has so many different things that you will spend hours just looking at everything. It has garden ornaments and pots outside in the yard, clothes, jewellry, furniture, gifts of all sorts. YOu won't be able to get out without a purchase or two and you will want to return as often as you can. Photo-travelogue follows.

Mulberry Bush shop also has a branch in nearby Parksville. This store is small but packed with books with plenty of authors from British Columbia. There's even an alcove at the back for Children's books. The shop in Parksville i think is a bit larger but the staff here was very helpful and cheerful and the displays are all very inviting.

Silverwoods carries arts, crafts, imported gifts, jewellry. There are some really nice pieces with all price ranges. There were some fascinating artifacts from Africa and India and some really nice silver jewellry from local artists.
