This 40 acre park is a hidden gem, located just outside of Salmon Arm. It contains a number of historic building from around the region, that have been saved and moved to this park. There are such buildings as a school, church, blacksmith, filling station. All laid out along a "Main Street". Many of the buildings have displays or exhibits in them. Well worth your time.

Yes, that's spelt right. Craigellachie is where the Last Spike of the Canadian Pacific Railroad was thunked. It is now located in a Rest Area along the Trans Canada Highway, east of Salmon Arm. There's even a Gift Shop for all that hard to find Craigellachie memorabilia.

    Salmon Arm Wharf

Located right downtown in Waterfront Park, the wharf is actually a pier that extends out into Shuswap Lake to the Marina where the houseboats are docked. It is a relaxing, scenic walk, especially at sunset.

Located near the sub-community of Canoe, Canoe beach extends from the Co-Op sawmill on the east to Engineers point on the west, incorporating private beach homes and a large nicely maintained public beach with boat launch, floating dock, snack stand and change-rooms. The CP Rail line divides the beach from the access road. Entrance to the public beach is through a pedestrian tunnel under the tracks.

The Salmon arm Roots and Blues Festival is one of the largest annual events in Salmon Arm. It takes place every third weekend in August. I love how this festival features all types of music, from blues and word music to even the occasional rock! This is a great event for families, even those with small kids! There is a great childrens area with performers, play area, rock climbing and more. Everything you need and want you can find here! Music, food, dance, shopping and lots of fun!
They even have a dace center this year were you can get free lessons from dace pros! I have lived in Salmon Arm for 20 years, and this festival is just another great reason to come and visit this beautiful area!

    Three Valley Gap

This Hotel / Tourist Attraction is the most prominant sight along the Trans Canada Highway between Salmon Arm and Revelstoke. It's bright red roof and magnificent setting make it hard to miss. I don't know what the rooms are like, but the grounds are very pretty. There is also a "Ghost Town" on the property, shown by guided tour only. I didn't go on the tour, but it looked like it had some nice historic buildings, and might be worth the money.

I admit...this is a tourist trap. But it's free on Sundays, and the waterfall and suspension bridge are pretty impressive.

In May 2005, we toured the Recline Ridge Winery while camping in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. We had an enjoyable brief stop and some of us bought some ice wine.
