Favorite thing:
Forget about spending money to get to the top of Grouse Mountain. Grouse is sponsored by Tourism Vancouver, so while very nice, it's also very crowded with tourists.
If you want to do something more local, and especially if you have access to a car, drive to the top of Mount Seymour.
Mount Seymour is located in North Vancouver, just north of the Iron Worker's Memorial Bridge (aka: Second Narrow's Bridge). It's a 20 minute drive from downtown Vancouver.
From the top of Mount Seymour you can see for hundreds of miles on a sunny day. You can see east to the Cascade mountains, south to Washington state and the San Juan and Gulf Islands, west to Vancouver Island, the Georgia Strait and all of Greater Vancouver below. Just be sure you're there on a clear day, or the clouds will block your view!
Fondest memory:
My favourite memory of Mount Seymour was in October of the year 2000 when me and my friend Brent drove to the top, and then hiked down the "Dog Mountain" trail, which took us to a rock outcropping with a beautiful view of the city below us. We could see for miles. Just look at this picture! This was our view of Vancouver. What a panorama!
Favorite thing:
As i never had sky before, when i go there i look for a place to go to sky, and i found MOUNTSEYMOR!!!
Whas a really great experience!!!
