    Slickity Jim's: Slickity Jim's

Where do you go specifically for breakfast that isn't generic? Where do you go when you want casual but not plain? When you want inventive meals, witty menus and bizarre decor? You go to Slickity Jim's Chat & Chew, that's where you go!

Seriously though, I stumbled into Slickity Jim's one morning after a serious party the night before. Not really knowing anything about it, I sat in one of Slickity Jim's old kitchen tables and gazed around until I noticed that the walls were decorated in kitchy grandma's garage style. Ugly picture frames with objects loosely placed inside. plastic fish. Doll heads. Broken clocks. Bad art and tacky all around... but it works. That was my first experience there. I've since been there twice.

Usually there's a line to get in at Slickity Jim's because, first, it's small, second, it's popular, but third and most importantly, the staff encourage their customers to sit and hang out as long as they want, regardless of how many people are waiting for a table... hence the "Chat & Chew" in their name.

My favourite part about Slickity Jim's, aside from their food, is the way they've labeled and described it in their menu. As one restaurant reviewer wrote, "spoofing the ever-more-complex art of food description, the menu at Slickity's describes its Salad of the Renaissance ($5.95) as "(a) soft, delicate poached pear guided by a most subtle and divine goat feta as they laze about a garden of wild greens, mingling with fresh herbs and sundried black olives with implied subtleties that only a lemon and olive oil vinagrette can provide."

    YUMMY!

oooooohhhhh....nothing explains the food at Slick's, a Main Street tradition, this is a must on your travel itineraries people! The coffee is fab, the service is charming, and the crowd is very delightful to watch as well ; ) The place looks like a very old western tavern, with retro art all over the walls - very funky, and the food.....well that is the best part, extremely creative breakfast from $3.00 - $9.00 and you wont be hungry when you leave :)

Favorite Dish: This would be the "Mean Teen Queen" delicous french toast served with honey butter and roasted potatoes! mmmmmm now I am hungry! they also make there own veggie sausage!

    Slickity Jim's
A very small diner that does the very best breakfasts.
It's a wicked little diner with exceptionally cool clientele and they serve yummy roast potatoes with the breakfasts and after you eat there you can hit the bakery next door for some donuts.

Favorite Dish: Either one of the many Bennies or the cinammon sugar french toast.
