Across the Burrard Street Bridge from downtown is Kitsilano. In addition to having (probably) the best beach in Vancouver, Kits also has some good shopping on 4th Avenue (as well as on 9th Avenue, a.k.a. Broadway). Lots of stores, ranging from arts and crafts, to kitchenware, to clothing, to books line this street from (approximately) Fir street to Balsam. Definitely worht checking out.

Are you looking for a battery or battery charger for your camera, mobile computer, alarm system, calculator, hearing aid, or other electronic gadget? Then this is the only place you should go!
They have an enormous assortment of batteries, including some that are very difficult to find.
Another thing I really like is that they will recycle your old batteries, whereas most of the larger "box" stores just throw them in the garbage.

They have more Canadian flags than anything else but still have a large variety of other flags from around the world. They can even make you a custom one! Besides flags, they also sell award pennants and windsocks. And many of their items can even be rented.
