Visit Canada Place
Built in the shape of a stylised cruise ship, Canada Place houses a plush hotel, offices, shops, exhibition halls, restaurants and an IMAX cinema. At least, it will once it's finished. The bow of the 'ship' is still under construction, and a lot of it was closed off when I visited one overcast Saturday, although the hotel is certainly there, as is the cinema. Still, you get some great views from the deck which runs round the upper level of the structure, notably of the north shore, Stanley Park and downtown. Canada Place's distinctive 'sails' are regarded as one of Vancouver's landmarks, and are recognisable from far away.
CANADA PLACE Convention and Exhibition Centre as well as the cruise terminal are found here. Ironally enough, despite the reputation of attracting millions of people annually, it was quite calm when I visited. However, I do like the design of the complex.
There are several cruise ships that come into Vancouver and dock by Canada Place Trade and Convention Centre. All the cruises go to Alaska.
You will find here: Vancouver Covention and Exhibition Centre, The Pan Pacific Hotel, Cruise Ship Terminal, The CN IMAX; Theatre, World Trade Centre Office Complex...
The Canada Place facility is definitely a wonderful structure to see, especially in the summer when one or more cruise ships are docked beside it.
