    Canada Place

If you visit Vancouver you MUST go to Canada Place. This Convention Center (also a port) is one of the most famous Vancouver symbols. Not only because of it´s wonderful architectural design (beatuiful white roofs, fantastic glass covered building), but also for the IMAX theatre, partys in there, etc.
I think it's a good experience worth it to visit.

Canada Place and the Cruise Ships

Canada Place & the Cruise Ships

Canada Place is one of the the most recognizable buildings in downtown Vancouver. It's currently the city's Convention Center, although I wonder, how much internal space these sail-shaped tents can provide. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful architecture to photograph, especially from Stanley Park or Burrard Inlet. Canada Place is also the main terminal for many Alaskan cruise ships, bringing in extra tourists in the summer.

It's fun to walk the Canada Place Promenade alongside the docked cruise ships. You can see the many activities happening at different levels of the ship at the same time.

    Visit Canada Place

Built in the shape of a stylised cruise ship, Canada Place houses a plush hotel, offices, shops, exhibition halls, restaurants and an IMAX cinema. At least, it will once it's finished. The bow of the 'ship' is still under construction, and a lot of it was closed off when I visited one overcast Saturday, although the hotel is certainly there, as is the cinema. Still, you get some great views from the deck which runs round the upper level of the structure, notably of the north shore, Stanley Park and downtown. Canada Place's distinctive 'sails' are regarded as one of Vancouver's landmarks, and are recognisable from far away.

CANADA PLACE Convention and Exhibition Centre as well as the cruise terminal are found here. Ironally enough, despite the reputation of attracting millions of people annually, it was quite calm when I visited. However, I do like the design of the complex.

The view of the north shore mountains from Canada Place on a sunny day after snow is gorgeous. It doesn't happen often as it usually changes to rain after snow in Vancouver. When the sun does come out in the next morning after snow, take a day off and go to Canada Place!

Picture taking opportunties all around this area. The weather was great and it was nice just soaking up the sun and being close to the water. I am a little land locked in Raleigh to enjoy this activity.

    Canada Place

    Raise the sails!

This remarkable structure juts out into the Burrard Inlet as if it were pier. In fact, it serves as a pier, when cruise liners, warships, and other vessels dock here. It also serves as a large convention center, and has a large IMAX theatre. The architecture of the place itself is unique, with sails raised above its long structure. Because of this, some people have remarked that it looks a bit similar to Sydney's Opera House.

The Canada Place is great to walk around and to snap pictures of. It provides great views of the city's harbor and downtown as well. Finally, if you want a good IMAX theatre, then this is the place.

    Canada Place & Cruise Ship

The Canada Place facility is definitely a wonderful structure to see, especially in the summer when one or more cruise ships are docked beside it.
