The Granville Public Market is a huge indoor market. It is a fabulous place to pick up super fresh produce, seafood and baking. There are also lots of fresh flowers, great cheeses, sweets.... it's a foodie's paradise. Open till 7:00 pm. Also in Granville Island is the Kid's Market. This place is a child's dream come true - all the shops are geared towards kids. There is an outdoor water park nearby where kids can splash around a bit for free. Mom and Dad can grab a coffee and cop a squat on one of the nearby benches. Family in paradise.... are you seeing a recurring theme here? lol. I LOVE Granville Island!!! This is a great place to wander around and window shop. There are so many artists' shops here, you won't believe it. The quality of one-of-a-kind art pieces that are available for sale here is phenomenal. If, however, you are on the sort of budget that I am, hopefully you can be as content as I am by just looking at the art. I love galleries, and the artists' shops in Granville Island are a great opportunity to tour dozens of galleries in the same day - for free! And I'm sure you'll manage to find a little something to take home as a keepsake that will fit into your budget. And don't forget the Granville Island Brewery! It's here too. You can do a tour of the brewery, if you're interested.

Some may consider Granville Island a tourist trap, but we really liked their public market. We think it's a great place to go as a group and try different foods from all the vendors. Parking is horrendous. We'd recommend parking right outside the entrance and walking in.

False Creek, Vancouver by bicycle_girl Oh, so much to do here... Granville Island is worth a visit. There is a public market, restaurants arts venues, shops of all kind, a hotel, you can rent kayaks and go for a paddle around the creek...Also check out the house boats, they are lovely. Then you can also rent a bicycle or inline skates and go around false creek. Views are spectacular. Leave a Comment Directions: False creek is downtown. You can't miss it. 3 bridges are crossing over, Cambie, Granville and Burrard Bridge.Website: http://www.granvilleisland.com

Granville Island is located in the center of Vancouver and has sever markets to encounter as well as the Seawall and several wharfs. The shops are varied in nature and you can find pretty much anything that you are looking for from Organic food markets to pottery to art. The aquabus runs from False Creek to downtown and can talk to here. There is also the Seawall in which you can talke a walk along the water. PS Parking can be a bit of a challenge on the weekend!

There are some great restaurants here but after dinner ask someone about the improve group called Theatre sports league. They have a show a couple times a week. This was the best improve show I'd ever seen. The one girl that was there now plays on a tv show called corner gas. It was a really funny show they performed a rendition of Lord of the rings.

We went to Granville Island as that was where we got our Whale Watching boat from. We had a wonder round before we left and found a lot of shops that sold boat and sailing equipment etc and lots of art. There is a big public market that sells all sorts of fruit and veg etc. There is a small train and model ship musuem that is woth a look if you are into that kind of thing. There are also a few cafe/bars worth trying too. A nice place to spend a few hours just relaxing the day away. Leave a Comment

Granville Island is located under the Granville Street bridge. The Granville Island Public Market is the most fascinating part of Granville Island. The market houses many fresh seafood stalls, deli meats, breads, as well as arts and crafts. It is also a good place to have a cup of tea while admiring views of downtown Vancouver across False Creek. Leave a Comment

by el_ruso Another touristy spot, but a bit more authentic. This is an area of refurbished wearhouses which houses tourist souvenir shops (the best ones I have seen), yacht supply stores, restaurants, etc. Leave a Comment

Granville Island with Burrard Bridge in Background by chris_i79 Once the home to a industrial park. Granville Island has been transformed into thriving destination. It is home to a harbour which moors some of Vancouvers boats as well as the public market. Leave a Comment

other island activities by EGitan Granville Island is a mecca of resturants, ice cream stands, unique over priced shops, and a fish, chocolate, cheese, and vegetable market. It is similar to Pike's Seattle market but on a less grand scale. It is over priced but is fun to look around and eat some ice cream. Leave a Comment
