 | Vancouver Grouse Mountain Reviews | Tips 41 - 50 of 75 | | Grouse Mountain is amazing in the summer. From the top of the mountain you can see all of Vancouver. It is beautiful. I went there with my school agency (www.eslvancouver.com). They arrange free activities for their students every weekend. I think its much better to go in a group. I can't wait to see what the skiing is like :-) A fun way to get to the top of the mountain is to hike! You can save the $17.50 price of a lift ticket. You can also compete to have the fastest time to the top of the mountain for free. I did it in 1.5 hours, but of course I am not an athlete. There are many activities such as paragliding and a Lumberjack show. Leave a Comment Directions: Grouse Mountain is in North Vancouver. You can get there from downtown Vancouver by taking the seabus and transfering to a bus that will take you to the base of the mountain.Other Contact: During the winter, Grouse Mounta

The hike up Grouse Mountain was pretty tough for someone as unfit as myself. However, once up there, the views of the city are spectacular. I took the easy route down in the cable car! Leave a Comment Other Contact:

A worthwhile trip, although a bit too pricey. This is especially fun for kids. The whole thing is about CAN$30 per person. You take a very long funicular to the top where there is a theater and a restaurant. There is a nature trail, great views to Vancouver, mountains around it, Capilano reservoir. There are also two bears who seem to be trained to stand up on cue for photos. See more photos in travelogues. Leave a Comment

With a minimum amount of effort, you can cross over to North Vancouver and visit 'Grouse Mountain.' Buy a day pass (Adult: $8 CDN; Child: $6 CDN) and you can travel there via the Sky Train, Sea Bus, and Land Bus which will drop you off right at the foot of the mountain. Admission is pricey, but the gondola ride to the top of the mountain affords a wonderful view of Vancouver with its skyline and landmarks such as Canada Place. If you opt not to pay for the trip and admission, you will have to do the 'Grouse Grind.' That is, climbing the approximately 3,500 ft to the top. Many young people did this on the day we were visiting. However you get to the top, once there you can enjoy snacks and meals in the lodge, watch a lumberjack show, visit the bear compound, watch a movie about the mountain area or have dinner and show at the Hiwus Long House where the First Nations Squamish people will entertain you with song, dance and legends. The day we were there it was raining and the low-hanging clouds shrouded the mountain and obscured some of the great view. While the rain put a definite damper on much of the outdoor activity here, it was serendipitous that we ducked into the 'Long House' belonging to the Squamish people, because we met a wonderful woman there named Cyananlut. She was the descendant of tribal chiefs and she regaled us with fascinating stories of her family and Indian history and legends. She even showed us pictures of her ancestors and presented us with feathers which have a special meaning in Squamish tradition. Cyananlut was a slightly built woman who exuded tremendous serenity and spirituality from her being. The time spent with her was definitely a high point of the mountain and Vancouver in general. Leave a Comment Directions: Off of Capilano Road in North Vancouver. It is also easy to stop at the Capilano Suspension Bridge & Park which is near Grouse Mountain. If you have a day pass, you can off and back on the bus at this

The view was spectacular and it was a unique experience for me, never have been to a "real" mountain before. You must go to a mountain if you're in B.C.! The skiing looked like fun, although I didn't try it :P There are sleigh rides around the base of the mountain, yet at the top of the mountain( a little confusing, yes!), a view for miles on a clear day, a BIG lodge gift shop, and restaurant area. Overall, not a bad experience for Grouse mountain in April! Leave a Comment

Visit Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. The Skyride going up to the mountain costs $17.50 (2 ways) -- so yes, it's pricey. However, if you do the 'grouse grind' which is hiking up the mountain through a steep trail, it's free! The hike takes about 2 hours and you gotta be ready to take the pain. Leave a Comment Directions: Grouse is located in the district of North Vancouver. From downtown Vancouver, take the Lions Gate Bridge to North Van and then take the Capilano Road exit. Once you get to Capilano road, just keep dr

A fairly easy hike (once you're at the top of Grouse) is to the top of nearby Goat Mountain. Simply follow the trail that skirts left of the final summit of Grouse and from there everything is well-signposted. You can also take this trail to access Crown Mountain and further hikes into the back country to the north. The Goat Mountain hike can be done in an hour, but most people will take longer. The final ascent has an easy option and a more direct route, though that isn't a big challenge either. From the top, you get gorgeous views of the city, Crown Mountain, and the various valleys and mountains in the north. Leave a Comment
