On a pub crawl some friends and I found Hugo's and Jean Pierre of the IFC was on pay for view defending his title and won.
On that night everyone was glued to the big screens watching the action.
It seemed like a nice place but a different sort of atmosphere on that particular night.
I would like to see it as a brew pub during the day!
This tip was accurate as of November 2004.
I have only been to Hugo's once, around 10:00 on a Thursday night. Martinis were super-cheap at $4.25 and the bartenders were friendly. The waitress was very rude though. They played an interesting mix of music and had patrons of all ages, from 19 right up to about 50, but the 19-21 year olds were in the minority... it seems to be a popular "after work dinner and drinks" sort of place that segues into a nightclub as the evening wears on. The dancefloor is very small and tends to have people doing "odd" dances. There is lots of seating and the layout encourages mingling.

Dress up, but emphasize "classy" over "skanky" here.
