Undersea Gardens....a peek under the waves..
This is a really cool way to catch a glimpse of the sea life surrounding Victoria and the Pacific Northwest...its a water tight building accessed off of Belleville Street on the Inner Harbor...the building is plainly visible from anywhere in the Inner Harbor area...
You walk down a ramp onto the structure and almost immediately you descend about 15 feet below the surface of the water. The structure is water tight and has large panels of glass that you can see through into the water...the sea life here is abundant...in the different viewing areas you will see up to 5000 different species of plant and animal...I thought this was really cool...and the presentation is very well done...
Located on the one end of the structure there is a viewing area with seats where you will watch a diver and interact with him or her if you like...the diver will take you on a fully narrated journey around the "ocean" setting....some of the fish and undersea life you will likely see include crabs, starfish, salmon, perch, and for sure...the "star" of the show...“Armstrong” the Giant Pacific Octopus.
Go and check this out...the kiddies sure get a kick out of it and I think lots of BIG kids do too!!
The "gardens" are open every day of the year but the opening times vary.....give them a call if you're thinking about venturing down here...
Access is NOT free.....Adults entrance fees are $ 9.75....Kids entrance 12 years to 17 years old $ 7.75 and children 5 years to 11 years old $ 5.75....Kids under 5 are FREE...
Its a little on the expensive side but well worth the entrance fee I thought....

Located in the Inner Harbour, the Pacific Undersea Gardens allow visitors to see some Pacific Northwest sealife for themselves. Board the boat and then descend below the water line to the aquariums and tanks located beneath. The Gardens are home to more then 5000 sea creatures, and there is also a tidal pool where you can "get a feel" for some of the more common creatures residing in Victoria's waters. This is a fun attraction for kids but wouldn't be of much interest to adults.

The Pacific Undersea Gardens
The only impressive thing about this is that it is undersea. Other than that there is very little to see for the price they charge you. Take a look from the outside and you'll have seen the most important part of it.
Very easy to find it, just look at the picture. It doesn't take very long time to enjoy the undersea view and it doesn't cost so much.
