With a vertical drop of 254 meters, This fall is very spectacular. In fact, it is the second highest waterfall in Canada.

Not much can be said about this picture , only that it is a fantastic scenery at this Emerald Lake.
From the information area here we can see the raging Kicking Horse River the river does cut through the bedrock over many many years,what could be a waterfall today can be a bridge tomorrow.
This is the Kicking Horse raging river , and it sure moves the water ,it is no wonder that this river cuts through Rocks.
The Takakkaw Stream cuts a swath in the dense forest granting the hiker a beautiful view of the Cathedral Crags which just top out at slighly over 10,000 feet in elevation (3073 meters).
All that water pours over the cliffside every second of every minute of every day. Yet the total accumulation on the valley floor is not much more than if the stream started with a bubbling spring.
About a forty-five minute hike from a small road off the highway is another great falls, Wapta Falls. We only climbed halfway down the falls as it started to rain heavily.
