The place is small they have a small second floor too but they serve the best Sushi in town. You won't think about the space if you taste their sushi coupled with the cozy atmosphere. They have good variety and we never disappointed. One could tell the ingredients where fresh and I liked the presentation as well. It's busy that time but we got a good and prompt service. I always recommend this place whenever someone is looking for a great sushi place.
Favorite Dish:
Naru rolls, October rolls
It is a wood inspired bar and restaurant. Everything inside are mostly made of wood. The staff are friendly and helpful but it gets very busy during weekends and holidays. I enjoyed my beer here with their tacos and signature carlos and murphy's wings, which is very spicy with mushy sauce. Your fingers will be messy but i liked it.
Wonderfully authentic Australian food. Small dining space makes for a very lively atmosphere. The mixture of eclectic Australian cuisine makes for a vibrant experience. All of the meats are done to a soft perfection while the sauces and gravies are always thick, warm, and sweet. The typical mixture of meat and fruits makes for a broad taste sample with a variety of flavors on any single plate.
Antoher major selling point is, of course, the beer selection. You can choose from a wide choice of Australian, domestic, and other import beers. Make sure you try some of their more exotic desserts.
Favorite Dish:
Lamb in a plum/date sauce.
Delicate lamb that is so soft you can strip the bone with your fork covered in a semi-sweet date/plum sauce. The meat is so flavorfull you might be tempted to forget about the vegetables but that would be a mistake. Barbequed broccoli and asparagus smothered in a rich butter-based sauce enhances the already delicious meal.
We had lunch here. Our server was super nice. The food was very tasty. The decor was very nice and the place looked clean and elegant in a casual way (if there is such a thing?). We had all-you-can-eat soup and salad, simple but delicious.
The atmosphere and service are great. The quality and appearance of the food is also great, but we weren't impressed with the menu. On both occasions, we both had trouble finding something we wanted to eat! The combination of ingredients is unusual and may not appeal to all tastes. Oddly, we like to try new foods and combinations, but none of their items appealed to us much. Also, it's expensive - nothing under $20, which, in our opinion, wasn't worth it for what we were getting. We tried it twice, some stuff was nice, but we won't be returning here. Far too many other restaurants to sample in Winnipeg!
Favorite Dish:
The pork tenderloin with pork chutney is delicious. The bison ribs are also very nice and tender. The appetizer prawns are tasty. The chocolate chicken is on the dry side. Try the appetizer before ordering the dish in case you don't like it. Menu available on their website.
Papa George's, Greek Restaurant in Osbourne Village.
It is a busy place and food is always fresh.
Favorite Dish:
Great greek dishes, and most importantly open until 4am, so it is a great place to crash into after night out. They also serve burgers, ribs and other canadian food for hungry crowd.
