The Forks, Winnipeg
The Forks is a park on the Red & Assinniboine Rivers, where you can shop, have lunch, listen to music, or just hang out. It's usually pretty busy in the summer. In the winter, the place offers tobogganing and a long skating trail.
There is a cool place downtown called the 'FORKS' and it is were two rivers meet. There is always something going on down there, and there a big boats and ships down there that you can take day cruises or night cruises on, and the views and every thing are absolutly gorgious!
The Forks is the area where the Red and Assiniboine Rivers meet in Winnipeg. A great market place has been set up and there is a walking trail along the river (and in the Winter you can walk or skate the river). During the summer there are often free concerts. This photo is from the spring last year, the water was really high when the Red River crested. You probably can't tell, but the river walk is under the peaked roof under the bridge.
For anyone visiting Winnipeg, definetly check out the Forks. I know this is possibly the first place advertised, but it is really a great place, believe me. Check it out!
The Forks is very cultural and interesting. It has great food, and interesting shops. I love the people who go out there and sing, or dance, or play music. Its really neat.
