A nice family restaurant to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and reasonably-priced.

It is also conveniently located on Kennedy St., beside the Coastal Inn Champlain, or across Paul St. from the Champlain Mall and Crystal Palace.

Favorite Dish: I've eaten there on a number of occasions, and have never been disappointed.

They have a variety of items on their menu, so everyone should be happy.

They used to have a great all-u-can-eat battered fish special for under $9.00, but on a recent visit there, I learned that they no longer offer this. Too bad, as this was great deal, and a big draw for me personally.

    Chan's House

Chan's House Restaurant and Take-Out appears to be quite a popular place, judging by how full it is and the line-up of people waiting to get in. It offers Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, as well as traditional Canadian dishes. There are also four vegetarian choices.

It has 50 foods to choose from at their buffet. The supper buffet costs CAD$12.00, and $8.75 for the lunch buffet.

    It's open Mon.-Thurs 11am to midnight,
Fri. and Sat. from 11 am to 1 am, and on Sunday 11 am to 11 pm.

Their 14 Chinese food combo plates for one person range from $5.99 (tour items) to $9.20 (5 items). There are also 12 other dinner combos for between 2-8 persons, ranging from $16. to $74.

The staff replenishing the buffet trays could learn how to smile a bit. They might at least pretend to enjoy their job....

Favorite Dish: The food was good and varied, and the trays at the buffet appeared to be routinely replenished. Despite this, some of the food items were either cold or tepid, at best. (I would expect this to be the case for a buffet after the main dinner hour, but not at the height of dinner hour.)

We ate there on a Sunday, at supper time.
