We had just completed the Major Kollock mountain biking trail and emerged onto the highway system very close to the coastal area of Kelly's Beach. All the park roads are kept in immaculate condition and actually have very little traffic.
As for bikes, the biking trails are like small roads, wide enough for three or four bikes abreast and with flat and smooth surfaces covered with a fine crushed rock mix. Even though it rained during both nights were were there, the trails were completely fine the next morning with no puddles in evidence. One nice feature on all the trails were coloured and weatherproof maps at all trail intersections. They showed you exactly where you were in the Park, and signposts indicated the directions and distances of your various travel choices from that point onward.

Kouchibouguac is easily accessible by car from either south or north. The closest large city is Moncton to the south, with the smaller Miramichi to the north. Highway 11 is a good road connecting these two cities, so veer off into the well-signposted KNP once you are in the vicinity of Richibucto.
In our case, we were coming from Fredericton, located almost due west of the Park. Our easiest route was via secondary highway 116 that passes through the nearly empty forested interior of New Brunswick. We saw trees upon trees with hardly another car or person sighted for the majority of the trip. This is a nice smooth and mostly straight paved road, with our 200-km cruise in the sunshine being completed in not much more than a couple of hours.
Once in the park, there is a great highway system as well, enabling you to reach all the points of interest. There is no charge for parking in Kouchibouguac. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

This is a very bicycle-friendly park, so much so that you will feel very left out if you do not bring one. There are 60 km of bike trails with hard packed chippings that enable you to use most any kind of bike and the best way to get to and from the beach is by pedalpower.
If you are unable to bring a bike, you can always rent one at Ryan's, just adjacent to the campground. Theme: Bicycle
