Maybe it was because the appetizers were half price but this place was the busiest spot in town...and town was very dead on the Tues night we were there. It was a warm evening so everyone sat outside ..no , no smoking laws here!
The service was very good and they had lots of beer on tap. Standard pub fare ...good chicken wings ans I had a stak that was pretty good too
Although the major cities of New Brunswick all have their popular nightclubs, I don't get out and around to too many of those any more! I am more likely to be enjoying a simple sundown scene in some remote part of the Province.
On the 2006 bicycle trip to Campobello island with Russell, the whole purpose of having our seaside cottage was to be able to enjoy the beach at least a little bit. As a result, once we had finished the first part of our evening meal cook-up, we headed down to the waterfront through a rose bush hedge and took up a position directly on Friar's Bay beach.
It was great to watch the birdlife go by as the tide slowly came in while we pontificated on life in general over a few cold ones! As the time drifted toward 9 PM the sky really started to show some colours as the sun began it's slow descent. We did not last too much longer after that ourselves - 'Nightlife' on Campobello was over!
By the time we did our evening hikes, then went into Alma for dinner, most things were closed. We could have gone into the Bar at the Tides, but we decided to relax at the chalet. We stopped into the Alma General Store on our way back to pick up some Moosehead Beer that we had heard so much about.
Then sat on our private porch with a drink just enjoying being there
There is not much to do at night at Kouchibouguac National Park in September. They have ranger talks in the summer peak season though with the mosquitos I am not sure I would attend them unless there was a stiff breeze blowing. We just had some food and beer in the car before retiring to the tent to watch the stars.
Tuesday night is BIG ASS WING NIGHT - delicious wings, GREAT live entertainment from Norm the Jammer (classic rock). Quite the pick-up joint!
