Jacinda Beals: Great Local Entertainers!

by jamiesno

Labrador has many great local entertainers and I enjoy them all. One of my favorites is Jacinda Beals and her song "Labrador to the Core".She plays in a lot of the local clubs in the Happy Valley - Goose Bay area and at a lot of the major events. If you hear she is playing on your travels be sure to check her out. Have fun!!!

Erins Pub: Calm before the storm

by larx

Nice little pub run by Ralph, an Irish Musician based in NFLD for many years. There is live folk music regularly in this pub, with a nice folky ambiance and friendly atmosphere. There was live music every night I was here in May 2008.Well worth a visit before attacking George Street. Casual.

George Street: Not for the Faint Hearted

by larx

George street is a party revellers dream... a collage of pubs and nightspots one after another..If you dont find a place you like on this street, you may need to review your life. Not sure of the count but 50 seems to be the approximate on this crowded little street. On top of that, many places host live music on the weekend so its a buzz of activity.Check out my pub reviews on this page also! I survived 4 nights on the lash in St Johns.

Located on George Street, this blues bar offers live entertainment every night, featuring local and guest musicians. An open mic night is featured on Sundays, and nightly specials are available. Casual

The Bars on George St: George St St John's

by easterntrekker

This is a well known hopping place in old St John's , legendary for its entertainment . It's been the "It Spot" for the last 500 years. It's a small cobblestone street with music in every club and bar.

The Flummies: The Flummies

by jamiesno

Flummies (flum`-meez`) n. - traditional Labrador trappers’ bread using a mixture of flour, salt and baking powder. The Flummies are also another local Labrador band that are very traditional and popular. They have been very successful and won some East Coast Music Awards. They play alot in the Lake Melville / Happy Valley - Goose Bay region and some more entertainment I recommend that is local and quality.I recommended the band but I also recommend you try some "Flummies" in your diet if you get the opportunity. They are not served everywhere but at some festivals and events they are common. I love them personally.
