Cape Spear is the most easterly point of North America and is located outside of St John's along a beautiful coastal road. There is an impressive lighthouse at Cape Spear. You can either take the day tours to get here, or a taxi will cost about Canadian $70 return. The problem with Cape Spear is that it is windy and is covered with fog from the Atlantic Ocean on certain days (I was unlucky that this happened when I was there).
